Its probably best that he doesn't honestly. I would love him too, but if it looks like the kid will not sign with LSU, or LSU isn't going to offer, then there will be 50 more people who are WAYYYYYY worse than this asshat who ran him off was.
This board loves to come in after something is over and say that it should have been done differently. So, you'll see a flooding of post about how Quad was never good enough, or how LSU didn't want him anyways, etc. Admins will let stupidity like that ride too, while they worry about deleting theads because somebody saw O eating and posted about it instead.

I won't ask you to come back because I respect you and your choice. But please remember the above mentioned saying. And pass it along to Quad, for it has helped me alot in life when I heard my dad's voice in my head saying those words.
If you happen to read this, Coach, I wish you and quad both the absolute best no matter what. It seems you are both destined for greater things in life. Even if this thread dies and is over, it's been a fun ride.

I would be willing to bet he is still lurking.
Regardless, I think just about everyone here is pulling for Quad. I think its pretty safe to say he is going to play football at the next level, which is amazing considering how few get that opportunity. I hope its at LSU, because I want every good player at LSU. Also because I would love nothing more than for Quad to blow up, and be able to call CP3 the idiot that he is.

Welcome back.
Let's keep this thread a CP3/Rantard free zone from this point on.
We all know that LSU has their eyes on other QBs right now. We all know that Quad hasn't exploded onto the scene yet. We all know he might not explode onto the scene at all. This thread isn't a discussion about if he will or won't, or if LSU should take him or not. Let's all enjoy Quad's recruiting story, and the rare inside info Coach is able to bring us.

Honestly, I’ve lurked on TD for a long time and I only signed up bc of Quad’s story. Count me in on hoping that kid gets an offer from us!

Welcome coach! Any news you would like to share?

Good Morning. Stud Bud and L-Town talked me into coming back. I think a few things need to be addressed in the spirit of keeping this thread rolling.
1. Lets try and keep this about updates, and encouragement. There is so much trash and negativity on the rant. If someone wants to debate Quads skill set or his ability to make it to the next level feel free to start another thread.
2. I want to apologize for offending a few posters regarding comparing Quad to other QB's on the roster. I stand firm with my stance on the issues considering several variables, and I disagree the comparison was disrespectful. If I say that Darius Guice is better than Saquan Barkley, or that Alvin Kamara has more upside in the NFL than Leonard Fournette, or Peyton Manning is better than Tom Brady or Jordan better than Labron, thats not disrespecting or even putting down the other guy.
Just because I believe one player is better, or has more upside, etc doesn't mean I think the other player isn't outstanding. I believe that both Lowell and Myles have the potential to be game changing players. That doesn't change my stance on what I said regarding Quad.
Having said that I apologize for offending anyone.
3. So back to the updates.....
Quad has been offered by UAB, Eastern Kentucky, and Southern MS. Georgia State, Vanderbilt, and Duke are expected to be the next teams to offer over the next few days. Arkansas, TN and South Carolina are close to pulling the trigger as well. They may wait until after 3 Stripe in Feb.
As far as LSU is concerned, Coach Ensminger has stayed in contact with Quad after the visit last week. From what I gather, they are really focused on trying to close Foster, and don't want to run off Gunnel.
From what we have been told, I can see an offer shake out from LSU pretty quickly should they not sign Foster. If they do sign Foster (which I have heard he is a silent commit) , my bet is LSU will wait until this Summer after Quad has camped, should he still want to camp at LSU by then. We will see.
Like I have said from the beginning if offered Quad will be a Tiger, with the only disclaimer being that if Quad has 10-20 offers prior to LSU offering, and other schools treat Quad like a priority, that would throw some doubt into the scenario.
We will see. All in all, everything is positive on our end. Quad did well in the NPA combine this past weekend. I would have liked to see him throw the mid range balls with a little bit more cleanliness, but considering he hasn't thrown a ball in 2 months, and has been playing Basketball, I was happy with his performance, against some SICK DB talent. He throws the mid-range balls really well, but from my Coaching POV, he dropped the back elbow too low and he locked his front leg on a few throws.
Again, this is a product of playing B-Ball and not really throwing. We will tighten this up quickly after B-Ball season.
Rivals will have his rating posted soon. They called him one of the most talented QB's they have seen in a while. So that's good.
Thats it for now. Feel free to ask questions.

Thanks for these updates Coach. I really enjoy them and count me among those rooting for Quad.
Interesting info on Foster. Seems to be so many conflicting opinions on where we stand with him. I guess we'll know soon enough.

Thanks for the info coach. I would think the big issue with talent like Quad is they are used to being the center of attention, and may not fully grasp that colleges like LSU have to pursue talent at positions of need at all times.
It's a non stop job of calming fears...X d ont want to come because Y is here. Foster might be apprehensive because LN is here, or quad might worry because Foster is here...it never stops
Obviously, you seem to be a voice of reason which they all need. The bottom line, if he loves LSU, he has to remind himself that the OC of the loved school has visited and shown high interest! Any other factor slowing an offer is a GREAT thing...LSU and Quad bith have to make sure they do what's in quads best interest.
Tremendous things happen between Jr and sr years for these kids. LSU likes him, he just has to keep telling himself that. Every school has qbs in their roster and other studs they are after. If any too school offers him anything above having a chance to compete for the job, they are lying.
Thank you sir for returning! I know I couldn't say anything you don't already know.
Quad is a GREAT talent. I hope he's a Tiger one day. If not, I hope continued success in his journey to become a better player and a great young man.

Thanks for coming back, and thanks again for the updates.
I for one hope the process/path leads to that and Quad is a Tiger.
quote:I've been thinking all along that a camp visit was going to be 'almost necessary'. It's a long jump for ANY QB from HS to P5 college. The idea of trajectory and progress is important for the coaches and let's be honest, they would not be doing their job if they didn't verify such things. As an example Brandon Harris never camped, it bit Cam & Les on the hindquarters. Talent & genetics have to be 'enhanced' by training.

quote:Quad and his people would be remiss and doing themselves to approach this any differently. All Tiger fans should account for that. It's a decision process for both parties, and the school has many more rules (e.g. scholarship limits) and people that they are accountable to... hence, the decision process doesn't necessarily 'mesh' for both parties. Both have a right and duty to do what's in their best interest and hope they do 'mesh' and the outcome benefits both.

Thanks guys! Glad to be back updating.
LSUSaint, I agree!
I will say that one variable that will have no bearing on Quads decision is who else the team he wants to go to signs. He doesn't care if LSU or anyone else signs 5 QBS. He thrives on competition. Welcomes it.
Another thing I want you guys to know about Quad, is that he is very poised and humble at his age. He has had to persevere through a lot, and that has shaped him. He has lived with Adversity for a LONG Time. More insight on this will come with time at the appropriate time.

Thanks for coming back Coach. I think no matter where Quad ends up, you have just helped to put more folks in his corner and obviously you and 365's work is paying off in getting him recognized which has to be gratifying.
I refresh this page everyday already but even more so to follow this story!
Thanks for the updates!
