First off, you clearly ignored the 2nd part of my post.

They try to be. But they're just not.

Did MJ and Pippen guard every player the same way they guarded that one dude in the Olympics who the Bulls signed?
Neither have anything to do with the robotic nature of players.

I mean, I've seen "special talent" thrown around a TON about him. And I watch and he's not some incredible ball handler and he doesn't look all that athletic to me.
After a single game in which Patrick Beverly says Ball " is a really, really ,really good talent"? I refuse to believe Patrick Beverly saves his very best out of 82 regular Season NBA games & playoffs for opening night against Lonzo Ball. I'm sure Beverly has tried this hard his entire career.
You know it is his job.
Vets have been attempting to get into the heads of Rookies from Lew, to LeBron to Lonzo. Relax , it's opening night .

Yeah, I'm not sure why shel's sticking to this take.
Players in the NBA literally take entire games off, so to suggest they coast when they're in a game is pretty logical. Insinuating the defense on Lonzo will get a more consistent effort than others is perfectly plausible.

We all know it's easy to figure out a players career path after one game

Just admit the lakers are terrible and Zo isnt the savior

The Lakers are bad. Zo is both Jesus and zeus

I predicted he won't be transcendent.

Entire team was garbage to tell you the truth.
That first quarter was one of the worst shooting quarters I've seen in recent memory.
And Lonzo couldn't have drawn a much tougher defender to begin his career than Beverley. That guy has frustrated Westbrook.

I see we got ourselves a typical NBA thread, hot takes all around and then pages of a nothing argument.
I think some fans have a distorted view of what Lonzo is based on the hype. A little worried about Ingram, they need to ship out a forward so he can play there.
