I'm not doctor but it looks like a mild sprain. Put some ice on it and an ace bandage.

I mean we know an artery hasn't been severed. It's tough to hide helicopters flying him somewhere for emergency surgery.

Last update was they weren't sure if they were taking him to a local hospital or flying him back to Boston
He's still there

Looked just like my FiL's foot when he dislocated his ankle. Broke the bone in the foot that is the cup for the socket of the leg bones. Took a long time to recover as he could not put any pressure on it while it was healing cause doing so night rebreak the bone.

If that's truly what it is (assuming no further ligament/tendon damage) he could possibly make it back for the playoffs. Depends on severity and how surgery and recovery goes, unlikely they'd allow him to chance it in my eyes but possible.

That’s as bad as it’s gonna get. Prayers are with Gordon.

really really hard to dislocate your ankle without ligament damage

Seen similar injuries in soccer. Usually takes 6-7 months.

Flashbacks to Kevin Ware.
Not even close. This is bad but Kevin Ware's leg snapped in half and the bone was out on the court.
