Who wins: LSU 2006 vs LSU 2011

I have to say 2006. 2006 had a better offense, better quarterback, and a nasty defense. I give the overall defensive edge to the 2011 team. But I don't see the 2011's offense crossing midfield in this game either.
LSU 2006= 17
LSU 2011= 0
LSU 2006= 17
LSU 2011= 0

JaMarcus was always good for a pick or two against a good D. TM7 would take him to the house for sure.

2011 defense was far better. I think they'd shut down Jimbo and Jamarcus pretty good.
2011: 24
2006: 17
2011: 24
2006: 17

Horrific 'what if' thread. They never would play so what does it matter and how would anyone prove to be right?

2006 team scored 3 points against Auburn and 10 points against Florida, but somehow would manage to score 17 on the 2011 defense? I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of 17-6 for the 2011 team

All 'what if' threads can never be proven, otherwise they would be call 'when' threads.

What about LSU 2005? That was an NC team but for Katrina. That team stole Miami's soul.
However, the 2011 team beats 2005 or 2006 80% of the time.
Eta: Both teams were coached by Les Miles. He would have found a way to frick it up for both teams simultaneously.
I'll take 2006 Les over 2011 Les every day of the week.

The 2006 team finished 9th in the country in pts/game and 11th in yards/game. They were a pretty damn good offense.
They played an unbelievably shitty game against Florida that year. Take away just half the mistakes they made, and LSU would've won by 14.

2006 team, at the end of the year, was playing better than anyone in the country with maybe Florida being the exception. So if we're talking about the Sugar Bowl team running Keiland Williams with J-Roc slinging it, I think they'd definitely score on the 2011 team.
That being said, I think the 2011 team wins just based on special teams and defense. Brad Wing would pin them deep on most posessions and Honey Badger would make a play at some point. Jamarcus wouldn't be able to launch it down the field against the likes of TM7, Morris Claiborne, Eric Reid, Brandon Taylor, and I say that with the uptmost respect for Bowe, Early, Buster, and Lafell.

the 2011 LSU played Bama twice and couldn't get in the endzone. One game they didn't cross the 50. The SEC championship game would have been lost if not for Honey Badger, since the offense didn't even get a first down in the first half.
2006 was cheated at Auburn, a top 10 team on the road, lost to UF, a top 10 team on the road, where a 16 point swing happen b/c of Hester not being called for a TD right before the half and we imploded after that, beat UT, a top 10 team on the road, and beat Arky, a top 10 team on the road who had won 10 or so games in a row and had a legit shot at the title game had they beaten us, and then UF in the SECCG.
If you coudlnt' tell, the theme of that rant was, top 10 team on the road, 4 times.

2011 LSU played probably the most difficult schedule I can remember for anyone and flat out dominated everyone except Bama. If Iowa State hadn't upset Oklahoma State which allowed Bama to sneak their way into a rematch, 2011 LSU was being talked about as possibly the best college team ever.
I still think 2011 is the best LSU team ever. They just had the unfortunate luck of having to play another all-time great team twice, and Saban actually made adjustments to his gameplan in the rematch.

I would have loved to have seen 2005/06's offense on 01/09/12 against Bama....Bama would not have scored 21; maybe 3 FG's but Jamarcus, Bowe, and friends would have done quite well crossing the 50-yard line on numerous occasions...as a matter of fact, we probably wouldn't have even played them because of the butt whoopin they would have gotten with the 05/06 offense in T-town in Nov 11....

I loved both of these teams. But I am going with
LSU 2011 Tigers 28
LSU 2006 Tigers 17
LSU 2011 Tigers 28
LSU 2006 Tigers 17

4 top 10 SEC games on the road?
the 2011 offense started to sputter towards the end of the season. They started off very slow against arkansas, and looked dead until TM7 returned a punt for a TD, then on the next Arky possession TM7 forced a fumble in their territory setting up the offense for an easy TD.
All 7 possession in the first half of SECCG resulted in 3 and outs. Good ole Honey Badger returns a punt for a TD, then comes out of the half and recovers a fumble setting up the offense for an easy TD. Next UGA possession is a 3 and out and Mathieu has an incredible punt return that might have won him the Heisman if he got it in the endzone, and after that easy score, next possession Simon intercepts UGA and sets up antoher easy TD for the offense. Defense scored 14, claiborne had an INT TD later in the game, and gave the offense 21 easy points.
The championship game speaks for itself. The writing was on the wall for how putrid the offense was becoming before that debacle.
2006 team got better and better as the season went on, and i would have loved to have gotten another shot at UF. frick Auburn and the cheating refs.

If we are talking about the end of the year 2006 team, then I think that would be a great game. The team really took off once JaMarcus realized that he was the size of a defense end and was allowed to scramble. That added a completely different element to the team and the offense was rolling in the last month/bowl game.
