Since Technically LSU is still paying him...

Can Alleva admit his mistake when Les is in town for the reunion and offer him his old job back?
Orgeron would be co-HC but have no authority aside from being an expensive DL coach?
I can dream, right? Joe, please?

if this is your dream scenario, it's time to dream a little bigger

As much as I hated the Orgeron hire and don't like how things look right now I still wouldn't want Les back.

Les as LSU President, AD, and Head Coach until he finds a suitable replacement for himself as coach.
O can coach one of our DT's, not the entire Dline.

No one seriously wants Miles as AD right? He couldn't handle one program. How can he handle all of LSUs programs?

You are assuming miles would let Canada run his own offense.
I was one of the last ones to get off the miles bandwagon, but miles was stuck and we weren't going anywhere. I was disgusted watching the last of Miles games. They were terrible. Miles flat out lied about changing the offense. He would not change with Canada.

I'm thinking more along the lines of us bitching because the Moo State game was closer than we'd like and we didn't cover in a 20 point win over troy.

Sure, but Les had run his course. He needed to go. Just because our next coach sucks doesn't mean that he shouldn't have been fired.
We were, in fact, trending downward with miles. With miles we used to be a 10 win team with an occasional run for the championship. That turned into 10 wins being our ceiling. And it would have just gotten worse over the next years.
I hated the Orgeron hire, but I'd rather crash and burn then make a better hire than slowly go down the drain and not be able to climb back out.

I didn't say he shouldn't have been fired. I'm just saying since his replacement was a major downgrade --- so much so the AD had to have a meeting and effectively neuter him --- that since we're paying him anyway at least let him coach until we can find someone equal or better.

Ok, I knew your post was just joking around, but I thought you were saying you would prefer we never fired Miles.
I guess I just keep seeing people say they want Miles back and got confused with your post.

Miles would not let Canada run his offense.
It would be back to run right, run left, run up the middle, punt.

well yeah its a hypothetical situation so im choosing the best case scenario.

and not getting destroyed by miss st and manhandled by troy.
its not a coincidence that our oline has crap fundamentals all the sudden. miles is damn good oline coach that preached fundamentals to our oline.

Miles should not have been fired. And before you go accusing me of being a Miles pumper, let me clarify things.
It WAS time- to find Miles' replacement. We were stuck at the 9-3/8-4 range, he was coasting. So you go out and find the guy you want, you line everything up. You have the shady "sign the deal while you still have Miles under contract" moment, and that way there's no backing out. And then, you tell Miles he can be fired, he can work in the AD, or he can retire. And 2 of those options will keep him part of the LSU family.
You DON'T fire Miles and then go "der, what next?". You don't fire him and get an interim unless the season is collapsing (and by that I mean multiple bad losses, not losing to Wisky and Auburn, but more like... losing to Troy and being blown out by Miss State, just as an example).
This might mean you keep Miles a year or 2 longer, but the next coach would be the one you want, and things will be climbing back up sooner. What we did means that we hired the guy we didn't want, and now we have to keep him a couple of years, and things might be a lot worse for the next guy coming in.

i think everyone can agree its was time for some new blood but not if this was going to be the replacement.
the lsu program can not sustain this type of clown show for 3 years.
gripe about his offense all you want but you didnt have to worry about dirty laundry being aired in the spotlight.

So you think LSU football was just in shambles since 2005? Who was running it? Bertman and then Alleva?
