I read that the mid-engine model will be double that and they will likely offer both the traditional style AND the mid-engine for the C8 generation.

I assume you reference is to the ZL1 1LE. If so you have to admit that is a track day special car and shouldn't be compared to cars that have daily driver manners no matter what the price. The Porsche GT3 is probably the best comparison and is still a better daily.

There is no question that Camaro is a hell of a track car and doesn't overheat like the Z06.

Looks like it will be 458/488-ish. I think Corvette designers also do some work for Ferrari because the C7 definitely has some F12 styling cues.

This is nothing new...

You simply agreed with me there btw. I’ve gotten 2 new ones, yeah yeah csb/“brag”/they suck, and both times the owner told me they want to move into the “next generation” of corvette customers.

It is crazy to consider that 63 250 GTO is worth 10,000 times what that 68 Vette is worth now and only sold for about 3.5 times as much when they were both new!

The current generation Vette is pretty close to 50/50. They mount the transmission over the rear transaxle.

Corvette has been technically a Mid-Engine platform since the 60 has been nearly 50/50 ever since. Now it will rear Mid-Engine.

Racing heritage and low production numbers will add crazy amounts of dollar signs to the value.

Production numbers has a lot to do with it. The 250 is beautiful, but not $50million + beautiful.

Got a chance to see one along with a TR and a few others this summer at the Petersen. I couldn't fathom that I was looking at that much money. They were beautiful but did not look THAT great lol

They keep changing body styles so often it's not going to be worth getting one any longer

IDK man I've owned some truly awesome European cars but there is something to be said for taking an LS3 , throwing some bolt ons and a blower on it and making 800 cheap, pretty damn reliable horsepower

The Ford GT won the LeMans recently and you can buy damn near the same car at the Dealership if you have the financial means.

My brother owns a GT350 and FWIW, I give him shite about it being Ford, but it gives you ridiculous power per price and does just as well as an M2 around the track.

The AMG M178 4L TT is a great engine and can put out over 600hp but the Chevy LT4 puts out 650hp and is actually lighter and more compact as well as being significantly less complex. In the end it is hard to see any real advantage the AMG engines have. At least with the Ferrari V8s and the Audi V10 you have an arguably more visceral sound but the AMG engines don't have much if any sound advantage.

It took/takes a lot more than money to buy one at a dealership, but that is beside the point.

You are way off on how close the Lemans car is to the street legal one. You would be in the realm of acceptable hyperbole if they had competed in GT class but they competed in LMP1. Despite the GT being a super/hyper car it can't remotely be compared to a LMP1 car!

AWD is purrrdy niceee.

Which def means this is a super car and not a mass production vehicle.
