That boy's death was definitely a tragedy, but they are overreaching with this. He wasn't a 10 year old they coerced into drinking that much. Some responsibility needs to lie with him. Ruining other kids' lives does not bring him back. Bad choices all around but not criminal, IMO. It's not always someone else's fault.

Younger than you and didn’t have to pay for a single friend and my life didn’t revolve around one night (yours being a Friday).

It's the go-to defense because it's obvious that a lot of people have no idea what they're talking about when they discuss "Greek Life." There's this strange animosity that people have for it.
It's not everyone that was a GDI, just some. And you can always tell. So that's the go-to response. "Sorry about the asshurt. Sorry you didn't get a bid."
