We had one in our den. But we converted that to a master bath suite. Really the only reason we had it was a place to sit drinks and plates on, and we let our kids sit there and color or play games on top of it.

Now that we just have the living room, only one end table. Coffee table would be in the way. And we have an ottoman we can move around to prop up your feet.

I do. There's generally nothing on it other than the remote or an occasional drink. It does come in handy when I'm drawing, wrapping larger gifts, or for appetizers when I have guests over.

you can have sex on them if you are careful not to break it or fall off.

but i think a lot of people use it as a place for the remote and putting drinks down as well as an extra dinner table to watch tv with

I do have a central table for drinks in the parlor between 2 couches. I do not have a tv though. It is for formal gatherings to sit and talk/drink.

If you want to watch the stupidity box then I have one in the entertainment room

Grew up with a coffee table in the living room. Had one in our living room until Katrina. Not even sure why we didn't get a new one.

I got one made of distressed wood so I don't feel guilty about distressing it more. I eat meals in front of the TV there, prop my feet on it when using my laptop, etc. It's handy as sh*t.

You mean in the parlour? Yes we have a coffee table in the parlour, but no TV. Our parlour barely gets set in.
