re: Alleva Termination Timeline - between October 13 and December 9?

The "time critical" phrase had to do with Miles getting a $100k bump in his possible, potential, theoretical (whatever adjective you need to understand it wasn't an actual raise) bowl incentives. He was fired September 25 and that meeting was October 9. So voting on the bowl incentives of a coach you just fired wasn't a high priority.
No reason to think the BOS wouldn't look at firing Alleva as anything other than "time sensitive."

Alleva is already gone.
It's not that he hired CEO -- it's that he gave CEO a $12M buyout. That's what gets him fired.

regardless of the consensus on Coach O, I think we all 100% agree Alleva has to go first, and go now!!!

They'll start caring when next year's ticket sales go down and big donors tell them to frick off until you make real changes. Don't see how anyone who's donating millions to LSU feels comfortable with this administration handling their money. I'd cut the checks off until I see change. If it makes LSU suffer for it so be it. That's the only way you're going to get anything done. All about money.

Some of us have tried to explain that ceo and AD are not tied to F King. JA is the issue and the Bos have the responsibility of dealing with him

I've only seen about two comments from folks not understanding in the past day, which to me is impressive all things considered.
Doesn't this feel like we're repeating history a little? i.e. the Joe Dean era? Would enjoy hearing some talk about that time from folks who remember those days. And DiNardo? The period just before Saban came here.
I was out of the loop during that time.

Firing Alleva immediately or within this season will tell us the LSU Bos acknowledges the issue with the football program and will give notice to the fans that they are wanting to turn the program back into a winning one. Hopefully Alleva will be fired sooner rather than later.

Yeah a Empty Valley against one of your SEC Rivals getting blown out for the nation to see will seal the deal imo.

Just do it. End it. He's a terrible AD.

Agreed. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a practical way to get Alleva fired before the December 9 BOS meeting.
No point in firing Alleva incorrectly to satisfy the bloodlust of the LSU fanbase, only to owe him more money on the back end, and scare off good AD replacement candidates.
But if there is a way to do it properly AND fast, I'm hoping someone on this board knows it.

There is procedure, as in getting items on the agenda. And then there is making the change happen in ways that aren't held up by procedure. Example of the latter:
" Joe, our BOS meeting in 3 weeks is going to ratify your removal. I think we'd both prefer to part ways quickly. Let's sit down and work out resignation terms."

That makes a lot of sense, but would give Alleva a lot of power in that negotiation (insert joke here). He could take a slight haircut to go away quietly, but the natives get more restless with each passing day so Joe knows that if he stalls he can get more $ from the BOS. Regardless of how much power being on the BOS gives you, it's no fun getting pounded by angry calls and emails from pissed off fans.
Plus, Alleva can always just keep saying no, and once the BOS fires him they owe him the full buyout ($525k per year from now til June 30,2020 less income from future employment over the next 5 1/2 years). Other than saving face, there isn't much the BOS can use to induce Alleva to "resign" this way.

Well, actually, you go ahead and give him basically his entire buyout if he resigns today. It's a wash monetarily to Alleva, and he doesn't have to continue to work at a job that he hates and knows he's lost anyway.

I believe Alleva will either step down or be fired within 2 weeks.
LSU has to start planning for the possibility of finding a new coach at season's end, and that will require an AD not named Joe Alleva. Hiring an AD won't happen overnight.

I want Alleva gone as bad as anyone - serious questions though:
(1) assuming there are no qualified candidates already expressing interest behind the scenes, how much time could we reasonably expect the selection process to take?
(2) is it common practice to appoint interim staff if the AD is removed? I am assuming yes, but asking - and wondering who is in the admin now that might step in temporarily.
(3) what impact (if any) would Alleva's removal have on our collective athletic programs in the short-term? Can we trust the current administration to implement a strategy that holds things together long enough for a thorough and proper AD search process?
I have to believe administrative staff are already wrapping their heads around contingencies.

Fired within two weeks - hope you're right. If not after Auburn, my next guess would be after the Ole Miss game.

Any info or just your opinion?
