I don’t think an a-hole like this cares about politics. Well maybe just on the face of it...but politics aren’t their motivation. A cunning, methodical, determined mind like this is rare. It’s not about how many can I kill or ever who I’m killing. It’s about can I exploit the holes in society and kill.
exactly.... i don't know why the need to try to play politics on the back of this incredibly sad event...

How would you know if he weren't registered to vote and didn't have a social media presence that discussed politics You realize some people don't really give a shite about politics?
Of course I know that some people don't really give a shite about politics but some people do give a shite about politics and I want to find out whether his political beliefs had anything to do with his reason for murdering and injuring innocent people.
You are being disingenuous if you claim that after the recent politically motivated shooting by a Bernie supporter and the ISIS inspired shootings in California and Florida that people shouldn't care whether this also was a politically motivated shooting.
BTW, I don't think it was a politically motivated shooting.

bruh....
The MSM started this nonsense. The MSM was obsessed (to almost giddy levels) that country music fans are most likely Trump supporters.

Go read the victim profiles on NPR or ny times. There were quite a few non-white victims. If that was his target, he did a poor job.

Paddock was not a registered Democrat or Republican

His family added that he never expressed any strong political views.
And frankly, if he did have any, it's possible that as a deeply disturbed indivdual, they wouldn't have fit into our typical way of viewing them anyways.

Why does everything have to be political? Maybe he was just an insane old man that snapped one day.

If it wasn’t politically motivated, why does it matter?

And the right politicizes every Muslim attack

When a bitter old angry man has a grievance...he lets everyone know about it.
In other words, this person, completely unknown to almost the entire world, has been the center of its attention because be committed an act that is rare, horrific, and outside even the blinds of the most horrific and exteme behaviors in our society.
So knowing that, why do people insist that all these unknowns about his beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors immediately prior to and/or directly related to, must fall back into something normal and easily understandable?

quote:Let's be clear here. The left was almost certainly going to politicize it quite quickly like they always do.
the left politicized this event immediately
And the leftist politicians are USUALLY almost pathological in how good they are at it because they're USUALLY more subtle at the beginning, they USUALLY wait just long enough for the immediate shock and confusion to wear off but while the emotional impact is still very strong, they USUALLY let the narrative form a bit in the base to justify the need, and THEY usually allow enough facts to form to build the narrative around the specifics of the event and build a defense as well.
And this USUALLY allows those who lose interest to move on, it USUALLY allows those who aren't very critical to move past the time when they would be more likely to be critical, and it USUALLY allows for those who share their views but would prefer not to politicize it enough to justify in their minds that it wasn't politicized.
Yet, this time the response was blatant, immediate, and oddly directed, all counter to what they USUALLY do. And naturally the criticism that they USUALLY don't get from sources we don't USUALLY expect it from. And why was that? Because Hillary was the one who politicized it immediately.
All of those things that they USUALLY do, and are pathologically good at it, USUALLY come from people who are great at playing politics. And Hillary is one of the worst at playing politics, which is major reason she's not president; this only reaffirmed that.
Thankfully, she probably put a major blow in the left's ability to effectively politicize it because she did it so ineffectively. At the very least, they are going to have to put it off for far longer, to distance it from her obvious attempt to politicize it, or they're going to have to politicize it in a different way.

Social media doesn't really apply/appeal to senior citizens. Got to roll up the sleeves and do it the old fashioned way....by actually connecting the dots in the field.

It doesnt follow trends. With the exception of muslim terrorists, the purpetrators off mass killings always make clear their motivations

I am of the belief it's the simplest of explanations. He was a nut that wanted to cause as much mayhem as possible.
However, for anyone on the left or in the media to claim how unseemly it is to speculate as to the murderer's motive or bent is laughable. Or to point out the difference in coverage if the victims were of a different segment of society. THAT, in my opinion, is what is driving the chatter of those of us on the right.
