I think the online needs more practice reps to master the zone blocking scheme and the variants imposed by the shifts.

I also think Orgeron, in consultation with Ensminger, has been "proofing and editing" Canada's gameplans, grossly limiting what he can call on gameday.

Again, the finesse of the Pitt offense, which would be so helpful to us right now, requires more practice, especially early on in the season.

This is particularly true if the game plan is working multiple plays off of individual sets. The moving parts must be properly choreographed if they are to mesh. Rehearsal is critical.

Orgeron needs to surrender gameplanning and practice scheduling to his coordinators, particularly on offense. Either that, or just let the season continue down this fkg black hole into which it's being drawn.

Orgeron's choice MUST be to let his guys sink or swim on their merits. Get it done, coach, let it go.

he lacks a fundamental understanding of the offense, he can't provide an explanation. So he has Canada limit his offense

I find it hard to believe, that at this level, Canada can't say (and have O "hear") that our O line isn't extremely strong, but there are ways to combat that. And explain to him that bringing in more blockers usually brings in more rushers, giving your line 7 points of failure instead of 5.

I'd argue Canada's Pitt team was severely out-manned (talent wise) when they beat Clemson.

I have a client who was a former TE at Clemson (years ago). He was talking to me about how surprised he was after the loss to MSU bc he didn't see the same offense from Canada that Pitt used to beat them.

After the State loss, O said something in his presser that most people missed. He said we will continue to keep 6-7 guys in protection. Obviously, he is paranoid about the OL not being able to block.

That is probably Canada's assessment as well. I think it's a bad assumption to think any quality coach would be ok with our ability to protect the passer.

I thought that I was the only person to notice that.Canada is used to spreading the ball around to make the defense guess who's getting the ball. But O said that our best player was getting the ball, which explains why Derrius Guice got the ball, like 20 carries in a row.Even though he was winded, and gasping for air.Why did we sign Coach Canada, I'm confused.

Because step 1 of the "master plan" - "hire Lane Kiffin" fell through. O's selling point to Alleva was -- I'm going to keep Dave Aranda and hire Lane Kiffin to run the offense. That way we stay good on defense and get better on offense/hurt Bama all at the same time.

O had no plan "B". I TRULY believe Ogeron hired Canada because this board and/or the media talked about him so much. O has been in college coaching for a while, but I seriously doubt he had any idea who Matt Canada was prior to last off-season. O aqueised and hired Canada to appease the fans. Now that the offense is struggling, O has no problem blaming someone (Canada) that isn't his guy. Regardless of how this season turns out I'd be shocked if Canada was still on the staff.

I promise Ogeron would want to hire Hugh Freeze. He'll fight for it until he finally get's it through his water-head that Freeze is untouchable. Look for some b-list flunky from prior stops at USC, Miami or Tennessee to be the next OC.

What happened to throwing to the TE and RB that I saw at Pitt and NC State. I find it hard to believe Matt Canada just totally forgot how to coach since his arrival at LSU.

I thought the statement that they only ran 10% of the playbook against BYU was bullshite. I saw a lot of games on opening weekend and nobody was holding it back except us...
