Not my first but did see Van Halen and cheap trick lake Charles in 1980. First one was prolly Grand Funk Railroad. Have seen tons of show but that was the loudest I have ever experienced.

December 19, 1980: Kansas with Alvin Lee of 10 Years After opening
Within a couple of years I saw shows like:
Van Halen (Fair Warning tour)
Rush (Moving Pictures tour)
Ozzie Osbourne with Randy Rhoads, and then a few months later Ozzie with Brad Gillis on guitar.
ARMS concert for Ronnie Lane featuring Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Joe Cocker, Paul Rodgers, and others (Jan Hammer, Ray Cooper, etc.).
Those were the days.

The second one was much better. A young incarnation of ELO.

Can't remember, but I think I saw Boston, Kiss, Kansas, Charlie Daniels Band and Styx, in 1978, at the Mobile Municipal Auditorium.
Not all at once. It was one of these.

the police with the go-go's
ETA it was joan jett not the go-go's...my memory is bad
That was a very good show. J Geils played there too and I think it was within a few months. Excellent. And then the Centroplex was killed off as a concert site.
My first - ELO in Denver, 1979 I think. The spaceship tour and a lot of fun.
Second - America at Red Rocks in 79 or 80. Gorgeous setting and the band was so wasted they forgot the words to Horse with No Name and just walked off the stage mid song after it fell apart.

KISS in 78 Lake Charles Civic Center. Parents dropped us of we were 6th graders. Met the pyrotechnics guy before the concert he was loading the guitar with explosives outside on a step.
