We should go after this guy and not take "no" for an answer, just like we should have in the first place. While he may not be everyone's first choice, I think we can all agree that his hire would be satisfying.
With that said, I think someone else is going to beat us to him.

We have to get rid of Orgeron first

If we only had the chance to do a coaching search

I think he's got a big buyout
So we'd be paying Les and O a combined 20 million, then we'd have to pay him probably 5.5 and also like 10 to get him out of his deal.
That's a lot of cheddar
If by some miracle they bought out O, the next guy would have to be a hot coordinator or someone with no buyout. Still preferable than the status quo but the cream of the crop candidates are likely beyond what we could do.
That's how big this mess is.

Saw someone mentioned in another thread we’re probably looking at 35 mil total to get rid of current staff (including Aleva) and bring new staff (includes buyouts and new staff salaries) Approximation, obviously..

Probably more like 40+ when including staffs and Alleva

I am not sure you leave Va Tech for LSU anyway

I think there are more who would make that move than wouldn't if the deal was right.

Wasnt he on the list to begin with? I thought I remember seeing his name. Maybe it was a want list on here

Three coaches on the payroll is trendy

we could have maybe gotten Fuente from Memphis after 2015, but vatech isn't really a 'stepping stone' job. I'm not saying someone wouldnt leave for a program like Alabama or tOSU if they really wanted to be there, but I dont think in general Vatech is a program people are looking to jump from.
Plus, there is the financial end behind it. His buyout would be massive, and on top of that massive buyout we'd have to pay we'd have to offer at least 7 million a year on top of that for him to jump ship so soon from a non-stepping stone job.
no thanks
