Hogs moved in yesterday but I just took one of the stinking jokers out. The sound of that slick trick breaking ribs and that death squeal gave me a little satisfaction.

I had a school bus of a doe come in. I was about to run her through when I saw the little spotted fawn behind her. Back in my younger days I would have orphaned it. But I'm apparently getting old and soft. I watch them feed for a few minute, then she throws her head up and bolts. She has been about 80 yards from me blowing her head off for ever since. I wish I would have shot the bitch.

Saw something the other day that science is now showing that it's better for keeping bucks in your area to shoot the momma with a yearling. Said that yearling bucks will leave the area entirely to avoid incest

It's unbelievable how much noise a few squirrels can make

Sounds like a fricking Sasquatch skipping through the woods

If there was anything around I'm sure that coughing fit I just had cleared the woods

Just got busted by a doe. First time bow hunting, so really different seeing them at 25 yards in the open compared to 100 yards from a box. She busted me and ran off behind me a little ways and started blowing.

Back left leg was gimpy. She wouldn't put it down and the muscle looked atrophied.

3 hunts in the books. Last 2 hunts I've been sitting in stands on field edges to "observe" deer movement and location. Skunked both hunts.

With the head high cotton I figured they'd be cruising the turn rows. Not the case from what I can tell.

Opening morning I hunted a funnel in the woods and saw 7 deer.

Back to the woods I go this evening....
