"The Left" isn't some monolith, guys
Some of us love our porn, too! Let the feminist wing handle this shite - I'm staying in my lane!

Like William Jefferson Clinton?
He didn't "talk" about it, either, he was doing all kinds of disreputable shite.
The left really didn't seem to care all that much about it then, did they? Even third-wave feminists.
As for his image with the left today, I don't know wtf to say. I guess it's hard to blame him considering who he's married to?

Hey, if liberals are willing to call out the absurdity on their side, then more power to ya!

You aren't sufficiently intersectionalist and are hereby barred from identifying yourself as a leftist.

The unsparing inability of the average poster here to grok the left-liberal divide can lead to some pretty funny juxtapositions

It's almost like limiting opinions to a pure binary spectrum leads to some WACKY conclusions.

Because he Liberated Women by paying them money in order to sink to the depths of depravity, take their clothes off, get naked, spread their legs and act like High Class Hoo-ers plying their goods on the open sex market like sides of beef.
But it is the end of an Era because these Sex Workers are going to be replaced by Sex Robots.

I think playboy started as a lifestyle brand celebrating urbanity and bachelorhood, which was a novel idea when he launched. I think most people have regarded him as pretty pathetic for a while. In spite of the jokes, most guys don’t fantasize about having a house full of gold diggers who don’t love them running around in their 80s.

Literally cannot think of a single better way to spend my golden years.

Not to those in his party or otherwise on the left.
"It's just about sex." Direct quote. That was the talking point they used to defend him from impeachment.

He took sexual objectification of women and sold it back to them as sexual liberation..... they took it hook, line and sinker

I mean after Bill "Tallywhacker" Clinton and LB[n-word]J, where exactly are we drawing the line for this standard?
Please be specific with your answer.
Can we agree that it's difficult to compare people in different eras? If you could transplant 60s LBJ into today's world, he would be run out of politics. I don't know if his language was more accepted at the time, or if it was just less known among the public, but today he absolutely could not get away with it regardless if his policies seemed to be the exact opposite of his personal feelings.
Bill, I don't know. He's Slick Willie for multiple reasons. I guess people could relate to him.
But, to be clear and specific, assuming we know everything about these people, I wouldn't vote for LBJ, Bill, Trump, or Hef today. Maybe I'm weird for wanting the people who represent and lead us to treat everyone with respect?

Here is an article that discusses the Playboy Philosophy they heyday of which was between 1962 and 1965 when Hef wrote his manifesto.
The philosophy was an ongoing rant calling for free speech, the separation of church and state, and the need for modern “heroes.” Hef lamented the denigration of the “Uncommon Man” during the lean years of the 1930s when aspirations were ground down by economic depression. This, he felt, had boosted mediocrity. Typifying the postwar economic boom and Cold War ideology, Hef celebrated the merits of free-enterprise capitalism, individualism, and free expression as forces that would nurture the heroic “Uncommon Man.” And along the way Hef would meander into topics such as the “forgotten” legacy of Charlie Chaplin and the unfair treatment of Picasso. Then after much philosophical heavy lifting, he occasionally got around to talking about sex.
