re: Oh, say can you see, By the dawn's ... STOP Central (BR) H.S. students! No Anthem!

Leaving aside the argument about whether they should have canceled the anthem or not. My question is why in the world would anyone think it’s a good idea to publicize it in advance? There’s no way you don’t anticipate the response from a community like Central. If you decide not to hve the anthem, you just don’t play it. It’s during the school day during a student pep rally. I would bet the kids wouldn’t even notice.

No, there's not. A few incidents will always happen. These people are arguing that it's a systemic widespread overarching problem effecting everyone's lives. It's not. These incidents are statistically insignificant.
It isn't just killings...
I agree with your notions regarding stats/data, understand that.
This goes into overall use of force combined with militarization of police forces.

The people with the voice to address those problems are too busy being morons.
Pretty much my first point. I knew we would agree eventually.

Id argue overpaid and undereducated rich morons making inflammatory political statements is as American as baseball and apple pie.
Correct, just like our current POTUS.

What are the facts of that case? A black cop just woke up one morning and decided to execute a kid and then drove into a neighborhood and chose a kid at random?
Dude. Come on. You were doing great with the exception of that part.

A topic I think we agree on. Too much force and too much militarization is not a good thing. But that's the problem. The issue is militarization of police, understaffed and undereducated police forces, and their training and use of force. It's not with a specific segment of the police attacking a specific segment of the population. And if there is a segment of the police attacking a segment of the population that's a symptom of a problem. You have to solve the problem itself, not just treat the symptoms.
Do you see what I'm saying?

?
I honestly am not familiar with that case you referred to? What were the facts? Was the kid shot during some kind of altercation with the parents? Was it a no-knock warrant gone BAD? Was it just a rogue lunatic police officer?
I wasn't implying anything, I don't know that case.

Man, that school has no backbone if a bunch of angry rednecks forced them to cave on a safety concern

But it's fine to cancel it because of 3-4 douchebag students right?

It was probably unintentional. Someone heard about it and disagreed then leaked it to the media. Im glad they did.

If there is a safety concern? Absolutely

... and what could be a safety concern in this instance?

A melee in a gym over who kneels and who stands...it's in central, so I'd imagine angry rednecks getting aggressive towards those exercising their freedom

Why are they singing/playing the national anthem at a pep rally anyway?

True.
We should make sure people aren't allowed to say mean things too. Wouldn't want them to get hurt for exercising their rights. It's for their own good.

Using force is different than saying words, no?

Then that minority ought to consider the consequences before doing something like this, not the other way around.

The problem is that Trump spoke out about it.
That isn't the problem.

they will associate the "standers" as Trump supporters and therefore, "racist."
This is the problem.
If you don't agree with me, you're racist, sexist, bigoted, etc., etc.
You can't argue with these buffoons, because they don't use logic and facts to argue. If you disagree with them they label you as some sort of bigot and disregard anything that you say. It's quite absurd.

I know. I'm saying we should eliminate the possibility of words precipitating force and being proactive like you said. It's for their own good, really.

The people putting on an anthem performance days after one of the most contentious national arguments of the year? They knew what they were asking for
