Has anyone here on the OT ever had Ceramic Pro coating installed on any of their vehicles? I’m debating whether to install it on a newer black vehicle. What are the pros/cons and looking back would you do it again?

I did it. Dirt falls right off with a hose.

Not cheap for entire vehicle and wheels though.

I’m mostly worried about keeping swirls and little scuffs off of black paint. Looking back is it worth the price?

I got my truck done with the 5 year protection. I highly recommend it.

Yep that seems like just fancy wax.

That's for you to decide.

Do you notice the truck staying clean longer or is it just a lot easier to wash? So it’s safe to say most of those ceramic pro videos on the web are legit and not just marketing?

What is it and how do you apply it?

In laymen's terms, it's a really hard wax/clear coating. You apply it just like wax.

It’s essentially a thin glass layer that supposedly protects your paint from fading, discoloring, and minor scratches. It also doesn’t allow dirt, brake dust and tar to stick to your paint. It’s extremely hydrophobic.

Highly recommend. Just had my third vehicle coated. Extremely pleased with how easy the vehicle is to clean. Limits water spots (almost nonexistent if you take care of the vehicle properly). Two black vehicles and one white.

Not quite, it cures to an actual hardened surface. They have videos of people taking bic lighters and beating their hood with it with no scratches/marks, spray paint or graffiti wipes right off, and I’ve even seen them put torches to it and doesn’t leave a mark on the paint.

So is this something you do yourself or is it done professionally like a bed liner for a truck? This is the first time I'm hearing about it.

Professionally installed. Has to be cured with UV light if I’m not mistaken. I’ve seen 5 year packages for $750 and lifetime for between $1000-$1200.

They sell kits to do it yourself but they do t last as long, usually need to be reapplied in 24-35mo.
