Some guy made a thread earlier about wanting rain in LA.

The WCAB has been pretty much untouched the last part of the season and OHC is off the charts. The WCAB and Gulf both could support high end storms even into October with the current setup.

That synoptic set up would suggest that the system in the gulf would head north or northwest, but I thought climatologically NNE or NE is more normal for this time of year. Interesting.

That's a really broad system on that GFS run.

Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
200 PM EDT Wed Sep 27 2017
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. An area of disturbed weather associated with a trough of low
pressure is located over the northwestern Caribbean Sea. This
system is forecast to move slowly north-northwestward across Cuba
and the Straits for Florida during the next day or so. Some
development of this system is possible when it moves near the
Florida peninsula or the northwestern Bahamas on Friday or Saturday...

You are really great at what you do here as far as weather threads, but there is ZERO reason to start this thread... just sayin....

NHC up to 40% for a system that might form this weekend east of Florida. It would have the potential to move back west into the Gulf.

NHC is now monitoring two areas. They have shifted focus for 99L west but that might keep it tangled up with Florida.
Both the Euro and GFS move a small vort max west into Louisiana. Potential for maybe a weak TS, given the setup.

Hurricane Season - Come on Cold Fronts, Time to End This
Got my vote. It's going to take forever to clean up and repair the damage from the ones that hit Texas and PR. PR is going to essentially be akin to starting all over again.

Somehow I missed how Lee died out as a tropical depression then moved north and somehow regained strength into a Cat 3 in the North Atlantic.
That's fricking odd

Thinking hasn't changed much, still watching the WCAB for development.
