Like I said you are obviously young. Probably still in your twenties. Thank you for your service , but your generation has grown up without any real sense of respect or values. It's sad actually .
While you say you only know a handful who are against it, I don't know any who are for it.
I also have yet to see one vet not standing for the raising of the flag or playing of the anthem. EVER!!! Have you? Do you kneel? Does the flag and anthem mean anything to you?

Any service member that believes in what packer is saying and don't have a problem with players kneeling during the national anthem must still be dripping milk from their mothers tits! When I start seeing service members kneeling during the raising of the flag or kneeling during the national anthem then I will believe what you are saying . I will personally tell my cousins who served in Vietnam, my uncles that served in Korea , my dad that was in WW2, or my friends that are active military serving now that they are all full of shite!!!
If the players were protesting the fact that former military members were mistreated, given horrible benefits after service, and generally forgotten about (which is a real problem in this country) would you be upset?
Sorry I'm not buying the whole it's because they are disrespecting the flag part. So that said you have an off button on your computer and you don't have to post here, but you are choosing to.
I get it you are so outraged about this. I'm sure next week you'll find something else to be outraged about. It's a pretty prominent theme in this country right now.

Go tell them then pussy.
Not all people in the military feel the same but the real ones, with a brain understand it. You also have to not be racist as wl.

Because this has nothing to do directly with the Saints numb nuts! It's an NFL problem, am I happy that the Saints players are engaged as well, no! I'm boycotting the whole NFL and unfortunately my Saints have to be part of that!

Nope in my 30's.

So the majority of white, southerns from Louisiana are against it. Colored me shocked. With the ages of some of your family (WW2, Korea, Vietnam vets), more than likely they fought against civil rights.

Do you kneel?
I don't kneel, but I understand that it is anyone's right to do so. It is a peaceful protest, which I will take over the "protests" in Baltimore or Charlottesville

Does the flag and anthem mean anything to you?
It does. It reminds me of friends I have lost and freedom. That freedom includes the ability to protest. If you want people to be forced stand for the anthem, go to North Korea

So I'm assuming that you are calling me and my family members racists now? Should I also assume that you are a black man calling this white man a racist? Color me shocked

I agree that this board is not the right place to engage in non-stop disrespectful comments about NOLA, the Saints and the Saints players, ESPECIALLY if you are not a Saints fan.

Agree, this board is about Saints fans talking about Saints football. Take the protest stuff to the poli board

Watched a video of a colts fan burn four sets of season tickets. That was a pricey fire.
More entertaining than their entire season will be.

Well, not only that, but, this particular Saints board, because it is part of a larger LSU board, gets more than its fair share of posters who are not Saints fans and actually DISLIKE the Saints and Saints fans. So I address them.
I love Saints fans. The Saints often disgust me and make me hate them but, isn't that THEIR fault? I think so.

Any lawyers in the room??? These players do not have the Constitutional right to do what they are doing. That's only if the state is involved, right?
The issue is more that the Owners are afraid to tell them no, therefore, it's allowed.

The Saints along with the NFL are subsidized by taxpayers dollars both On the Federal and State level. To the tune of roughly 3.2 billion dollars. To justify their actions under labeling of "protest" does not make their actions right. IF the Saints organization allows this to continue, political pressure will continue until their tax dollars are threatened. No matter what side the fence you are on, it is in everyone's interest for the Saints organization to stop this bullshite. Make the message all you want. Make a big deal about it, but they better stop fricking with the anthem and the flag...it won't be tolerated...not for long, if they continue, the pressure will continue and it will not be good for football. There's no need for it, the attention can be called without offending Patriots of this country. It's that simple

My son served 4 1/2 years in the Army . Did A tour in Afgan. and got A purple heart . He dosen't give two shits if they kneel or not . Says he fought for Freedom and thats part of it . Gotta take the good with the bad or your not free .

Funny thing is the cause these clowns are kneeling for is getting ZERO attention but fingering the country is.

I'm not giving up football or the Saints.
But the irony is that those to whom you are addressing just wanted the same thing. They wanted to just enjoy football without political protests being forced down their throats while they consumed the product.
I don't think it makes much sense to support the protests while at the same time asking the opposition to the protests to step aside. Frankly, that is hypocritical.
