Cam Newton is regressing quickly

How long until national personalities start to talk about how he’s gotten progressively worse and worse each year? They had to go out and get a multi-purpose back because it’s become easier and easier to figure his game out. And then now that he’s primarily throwing, he’s legit terrible.

His career ended that time in the super bowl when he pussed out for that fumble.

Outside of 2015, he really hasn't done anything special

Good attitude goes a long way. He doesn’t have one. It’s obvious he doesn’t put in the work he needs to, and when things don’t go his way, he pouts like a child

Aside from the fact that he obviously isn’t healthy right now, there are some factors going on that are causing his play to slip.
1) Carolina is almost entirely taking away his running ability. They may be trying to protect their investment of a franchise QB, but running is what Cam Newton does best. He’s big, he dishes out punishment and he keeps the chains moving.
2) This kind of goes with #1, but Carolina is trying to turn Cam Newton into a pocket passing QB, strictly, and that’s not what he is. That’s not what he’s ever been. And he’s never going to be a guy that just drops back and beats a team with only his arm.
3) Carolina still has not addressed the offensive line. They still suck. Looks like they always will.
4) This kind of goes with #1 and #2, but Cam Newton hasn’t been healthy lately, and I believe that is from a combination of factors. His running, his lack of protection and his game in general. Obviously he’s getting beat up moreso than any other player, but that comes with the territory of being a dual threat player that thrives on the ground. It’s going to happen.
I think Carolina’s best shot is to sit him until he’s healthy, then go back to calling the offense the way it was called in the past. His arm doesn’t appear as strong nor accurate as it was prior to surgery. If things stay the way they are, he’s not going to find success like before.

Haven't they been wanting him to be effective from the pocket for some time now?

God that was terrible

Probably, but like I said, he’s never been a pocket passer and I don’t ever expect him to be. Taking away his legs takes away a large portion of his game. I don’t think he can be successful in that manner.

He needs to get tf out of Carolina before theres nothing left to salvage. shite OL, shite WRs, shite coaching, shite scheme.

Maybe he's just not a very good NFL player

I would agree if he hadn’t won MVP, ROY and set multiple records.
He’s not playing well right now and that’s what matters at the end of the day.

He lost his smile after Von Miller stole his soul.

Haha yeah he has.
Based on our exchange in the Fantasy forum it would appear that, at least this year, he's your boy too.

Considering the fact he was never accurate to begin with, that makes him go from bottom 10 to bottom 5. Not that big of a difference

Lol, his stats are on par with his career numbers aside from a great 10 game stretch in 2015.

More like common sense for anyone that follows Carolina a little bit.
