Again, you aren't advocating for insurance. You are advocating for the Federal Government to collect my money and ration care for me and those who contribute nothing as they see fit.
His example was regarding health insurance. My response was accurate.
Look, you don't want insurance. You want socialism. We are talking about and want different things.
I do wish you would be honest though and I wish those of your ilk would be honest.
Tell us how much of our money will make you happy?
Tell us if this is the last time you socialistic desires will be displayed. Promise that this is it. Promise that your desire to grow government is over with this experiment that I believe will fail or bankrupt the country if not both.

And heavily influenced by genetics.
Which Republican policies make the determination between chronic conditions you believe are caused mostly by choice, and chronic conditions you believe are mostly caused by genetics? Please link them, thanks.

Meh, its no different than a govt running up the tab on something unrelated to the citizen. Tons of examples to choose from- our pointless forays into the middle east, taxes, expansion of big brother, mass incarceration to appease certain lobbies.
None of that is "fair" either.

if we're talking macro, population level commentary? not really (again, i said non-elderly)
yeah there are some people who get fricked by genetics at an early age, but they're a small portion of society

The ironic part of this is that other countries with far more socialistic programs have better life expectancy for less money. Lets not pretend we have some sort of great efficient system over here.

Their better life expectancy is due to culture, not money.
Those other "socialist" countries have a culture of walking/exercising and not cramming their faces with McDonalds 24/7.
ETA: This country wants everyone to have cadillac healthcare for a majority who treats their bodies like shite.
There's not enough money on the entire planet to support that.

the problem with our system is the same problem with our educational system: our underclass skews everything by making bad choices
the US is a unique country in the world where we have both a large population of economic elites that are unmatched in scope anywhere else (and only beaten in individual wealth by authoritarians in resource-rich countries) while also having an underclass that rivals the developing world.

How do you know that we pay for his moms medical procedures ? A lot of us actually pay our own bills unlike democrats.

In no way is that what I'm advocating for.
Why are you so angry about calling it insurance? Let's just call it 'access to care' - will that lower your blood pressure?

Those countries do not have the same demographics as we do. We aren't those countries.
Some like to decry others when it's said that Country A does this. The typical response is but we aren't country A.
If you think socialistic policies are good for the country then vote for Bernie type candidates. Vote for candidates that are honest about it and not those that are trying to fool American's like Obama.
I just, for once, want libs to be honest about it and tell us how much they want. Put that number out there in the public and let the public decide.
If the public wants to pay the price and the price is known then fine. I'll live with it and vote for people to repeal it.
The dishonesty about this issue is what bothers me (Gruber and Obama and his admin and supporters).

We have to design a health system that accounts for all facets of the society, not just the healthy or the well-off.
Yes, you are.

I feel like the UK and the US have similar affinities for fried food. Roughly 66% of British men are overweight or obese vs 70% in the US. Thats just one country of course, but still my point stands- other countries do it better for less money (with possibly healthier populations depending on the country).

Not angry, missy. You aren't advocating for insurance. You can't do that and want PECs covered. You know this.
Again, that poster was talking about an insurance policy and so was I. I wasn't talking about a magic scroll of progressive healthcare dreams.
