RBs now have a short shelf life, bruisers like eddie even shorter. I'd think not taking proper care of your body shortens it even further.
from his talk of pro vs college, seems like he lacks self discipline and needed the college structure to hold him accountable

why would anybody tell a football-playing child to play RB? it makes no sense
if you are athletic enough to be an elite RB, you can be an elite LB or DB (possibly DE depending on your height) and be set to make so much more money

hes human dude. he is far from complaining about how his "feewings" are hurt. he isnt trying to put those people on blast about his "struggle" or anything. hes just saying its not awesome for himself to look at. which i think is a pretty normal response to have
Yeah but its not like he just some fat kid at school, or on the bus being bullied about his weight. He gets paid millions of dollars to be in shape. And he doesnt take his job seriously and that pisses people off.

Yeah. It makes Bettis' 13 year career that much more impressive

I'm not saying shame on the people who are doing this. He's a public figure. I don't have any problem with people making fun of him. I just think his reaction is a normal response that the vast majority of people would have and it's just weird to see OP single that one part out

His problem isn't weight. He's made all the weight requirements in his contract this year.
His problem, I believe, is heart. He's accomplished everything he ever wanted. He went to college, won a championship, got drafted, made millions, and now he's tired of grinding every day. He's been in the league about 5 years I think.
Ive been established with my professional career for 6 years. If I had already made several million dollars, I wouldn't want to be grinding everyday either.
How much would you have to accomplish in your career before you were ready to back away frok the daily grind? Not everyone is the same, some people are wired differently and have more drive than others. Guys like Jordan, Brady, and the GOATs are so great because they have the heart and the drive to be so great combined with extreme athletic talent.
I think another thing that plays into guys losing their drive, is all this CTE talk.

Everything I knew and heard about him in GB was that he's a super kind and humble guy. It's a shame he couldn't maintain his weight because we loved him up there.
I'm sure it doesn't feel great to hear that all the time, but at the same time I agree that his body is his paycheck...needs to find some discipline.

the thing is, he wouldn't even have to face this scrutiny if he just avoided social media

As would like every person in human history

When Eddie Lacy is 40 he's going to weigh 300 pounds.

Most fat people do have problems with their heart

avoiding social media or completely changing the nature of all 7B humans...hmm...which is easier to accomplish?
Posted on 9/20/17 at 1:42 pm to SlowFlowPro
Blaming him for this when he was just living just life and doing a very normal thing that millions of people do or the assholes on the internet? Hmmmm

Being an a-hole on the internet is like the entire point of the internet. I promise you Eddy Lacy has been an a-hole on the internet before

Sure. I have already said I have no problem with people making fun of him. I just think looking at this and going "well he shouldn't use social media at all" is not the right way to look at it. But that's just me
Posted on 9/20/17 at 1:56 pm to WestCoastAg
Well it's a red pill/blue pill situation
Either go on social media with the expectation that people will be assholes especially if you are a public figure
Or don't go on social media and live your life. It's not like social media is a human right or basic need for survival

And I don't see where he is really complaining or crying about this stuff. All he said was the didn't like seeing it which is a totally normal reaction to have

He’s gonna get cut any day

Similar to dudes who jump on models/actress instagram pages and make weird sexual comments. Like what are you looking for dude?
