Or is this one of those rant myths that we just ran with because we are pissed off about Saturday night?

Not trying to troll but really would love to know if Alleva was really that stupid.

Yes.

And yes, Alleva is that stupid.

Better just grin and bear it or if you got the funds, just whip out the old checkbook. Help your fellow Tiger Fans out.

But we need JA away from LSU before the next hire is made. That dumb motherfricker will wind up giving the job to the janitor that cleans the toilets in the football ops building.

It really is the most boneheaded and unbelievable aspect of a saga that had a shitload of such moments.

Why in the hell did we give O that big of a buyout? We weren't in jeopardy of him going somewhere else or anything. His buyout should have been like 1 mil or the remaining current year salary

How the frick does a 3 yr, $3.5m a year contract equate to a $12m buyout? We would pay him more if we fired him than if he actually coached all three years? Am I mistaken about his salary or what am I missing?

Orgeron's two-way buyout with the program is $12 million this year and drops every subsequent year of the contract. It slips to $8.5 million in 2018, $6 million in 2019, $4.5 million in 2020 and just $1 million for the final year.

Don't believe this. Didn't he say in a press conference even if he had only one year here, he would stay as an assistant coach? Surely, I didn't just dream that?

You all keep calling it a buyout - but it's more like a guaranteed salary. The buyout decreases throughout the 5-year contract. After this year, it's supposedly $12M which is $2M less than 4 years (remaining) x $3.5M/yr. Don't know if they have a mathematical formula or just chose a random number after each season served.

I do not understand how you negotiate that kind of buyout for:

1) a guy who's dream job is to coach here, and

2) there was no demand for his head coaching services elsewhere.

Alleva had all the leverage and got his arse handed to him.

Unless they have cause to fire him, LSU is fricked for the foreseeable future. Honestly, just have him framed for calling up escort services and save everyone the headache of the next 5 years of horrific football.

What can you do about it? Alleva is apparently not only the AD, but also a vice chancellor... I don't know how he maneuvered himself into that position, or are there several VCs? Anyway, that's an unusual title to be associated with an AD, and it would not be that easy to get rid of him if it carries weight.

Even if buyout was smaller alleva kindof handcuffed. If we fire the coach after 1 year after a regime change and a new staff coming in it's a bad road to go down. Who would come then ?? The only way is fire the AD which is almost an automatic HC move anyway or at least a big fail this year and next. We're in this for 2-3 years and gotta hope this staff gets it together. With a lot of pressure on O and the program I don't see Raymond staying. He's a very hot commodity and someone may take a chance and offer him a D.C. Job.

I still can't believe this..... we have to have the all time worst AD in the history of NCAA. Dude must go! He has taken LSU down so hard with this move.

How the F do you give a coach with such a bad track record as Zero such a buyout?? This has to be wrong?
