Cereal is just about the worst thing you can eat for breakfast anyways.
This. Crazy how widely accepted it is to eat sugar and wheat for breakfast.
Too bad I already don't eat kelloggs so I can't quit.

No wonder you're so insufferable here, you literally can't see what a shitty poster you are.
For real though I like you as a poster and am happy to hear you are holding onto your sight. I have a friend who had a loosely similar situation which caused him great strife. Keep fighting the good fight.

Fruit is a pretty ambiguous term. Blueberries not the same as bananas or strawberries. You can get those same antioxidants, vitamins, and phytochemicals in vegetables that arent pure sugar like fruit.
Im not saying fruit is the devil, just like I wouldnt say cookies are the devil. Moderation is key. Fruit...its not "healthy" food though. Its a treat

Oatmeal is Yankee grits. Real grits for life. Butter and salt. The good die young. I'm way past my expiration date.

They will not prevent an insulin spike. However, the spike will not be as great because fruits also contain fiber. Fiber helps slow the digestion of carbs and thus it's entry into the bloodstream
BS, your body only secretes the amount of insulin required for sugars, i.e., carbs. There are complex and simple carbs. A simple carb would be such as dextrose and oatmeal would be a more complex. Your pancreas secrets no more, no less insulin than what is needed to store the energy in your cells.
Simple explanation. Sure if you eat four Milky Ways after a workout, you'll get a spike in insulin, but only due to the need for a a quick insulin dose in the blood stream to handle the simple sugar overload. Matters not if it is Milky Way or an apple...think of it as insulin on demand.

I don't care who they support, I'm still eating Pop Tarts until the day I die.

Damnit, no more Frosted Flakes. Back to smoking crack for breakfast, I guess.

I eat two cups of frozen wild blueberries a day
Doesn't that make it hard to chew them? I'd recommend defrosting them first. Also, how do you know they're wild? Wouldn't farm grown be better? Are there just wild blueberry bushes growing where you live? This all seems very confusing.

But I don't eat eggs, so there's virtually nothing low-carb out there for breakfast.
What is bacon? What does it do?
What is sausage?

Protein, not just CHO, is also a significant insulin secretagogue. Dietary fiber also plays a big role in the insulin response to dietary CHO. Soluble dietary fiber for example, via it's ability to form a gel-like matrix, can inhibit the absorption of dietary CHO. It may also translocate the CHO further along the small intestine where the insulin response is not as great. Dietary fiber is also inversely associated with insulin resistance. Thus, the role of fruits, many of which are high in fiber (raspberries, blueberries, pears) and the limiting of the insulin response.

Aren't they a big contributor for all those PBS kids shows too?

Can't stand breakfast sausage - too greasy for me, especially in the mornng. I eat my share of bacon, but it's not like I'm going to sit down to a plate of bacon for breakfast 3-4 times per week. If I'm eating bacon, it's almost always with somethng like biscuits or pancakes, and they are the devil in regards to carbs. Don't like grits either.
