What have we been doing recruiting on the DL?

As I've gotten older, I follow recruiting less and less. I see we have had top 5-10 classes every year so I generally just assume all is well in that area. But when you only have 6 or 7 guys in the entire depth chart at DL that is a problem.
I understand our lack of depth at WR as Les ran off several guys who transferred. I understand our youth in the secondary. I understand our youth at linebacker. But at a position that we have been known to have depth for days, how on earth can we have two players ejected and have literally only 4 or 5 guys that can even play the position left? Can't even blame farmer fran for that.

Lets fine out who the DL coach and recruiting chief has been!

Coach O has been handling it

We have been doing nothing.

Ed Orgeron was the dline coach numb nuts.
His players are playing.
Les might have more wrs in the league than any current sec coach.

Rayville has a kid 6'5" 250lbs that should be looked at but I bet he's not even on the radar of LSU.

But Pete Jenkins is a legend!

that's great. That still doesn't explain our complete lack of depth at the position right now.

2013 - only Gilmore & LaCouture are contributors
2014 - only signed Godchaux, Clark and Trey LMFAO
2015- here the biggest problem: only signed Isaiah Washington
2016 - Logan, Lawerence, Big Ed

I watched him play Friday night he is a beast. Plays both ways and probably led the team in tackles.

Do you think it has occurred yet to some numb nuts that its not really true that "any coach" LSU could hire would win almost 80% and play in two NCGs?

We have been recruiting top 5 talent and finish 2nd or 3rd for them with no backup plan. So we add another DB instead to pad the ranking.

It's been a problem for years the LSU's best recruits are skill guys and not big guys

Lawrence - High Ankle Sprain (Not Eaux's fault)
Alexander - Kid got hurt in the 1st half and was ineffective (Not Eaux's fault)
Farrell - Targeting penalty and ejected in the 2nd half (Not Eaux's fault)
With Shelvin being unavailable for academics, you were rotating 4 men last night on a 30 front. You will beat absolutely nobody in this Division with that lack of depth and attrition. Beyond that, Orgeron had a great class last year and Big Marvin Wilson chose F$U on NSD. Phidarian Mathis chose Bama.
Eaux's big blind spot is Pete Jenkins. I'm not sold on him as an in-game coach. He's not an on the road recruiter. At his age you can't guarantee kids he's gonna stick around. We are getting out recruited there IMO. Regardless of whether Eaux and Austin Thomas are helping there.
We have way too damn many staffing band aids on bulletholes.
Grimes needs to go. He's been here too long now to have this type of miscommunications on both sides of the line as it relates to communication and blocking assignments.
Jenkins needs to move FT to shadow staff. Period.
Mickey Joseph should be offered a shadow staff or developmental position on staff. If he doesn't accept, he should be shuffled around or terminated.
The Special Teams/Extra Position Coach does not look effective in terms of how we addressed it.
We are trying to make do with duct tape and chewing gum in several areas and that's not how you become or maintain a successful football program.

You have to also consider they practice against our OL.

Bain, Lelaimatafao, Valentine, big brother Teuhema, Garrett (supposed to be our Mike LB) all are gone.
Herron and Clark haven't given us much.
Saban signed that big juco NT that transferred from Georgia basically just to keep us from getting him, and then dismissed him.

What you took from last night was that Pete Jenkins is the problem and some guys were hurt?
Those goal post do keep on moving.
