Do any or you ever get tired of the US sending our men and money into war?
The Korean War was none of our business.
The Viet Nam War was none of our business AND proved we were not threatened by the North Vietnamese as LBJ told us.
The Balkan Wars were none of our business.
Desert Storm was none of our business.
The second Iraqi war was a mistake and we were not threatened by Saddam.
The war in Lebanon was none of our business but got 300 marines killed.
The war in Syria is none of our business.
We had no business installing the Shah in 53.
We should have left Nicargua to Ortega--he ended up running it anyway.
on and on.
We have too many obligations and are spending too much money on defense and too many lives on distant wars with countries that poise little threat to the USA.
No organized state---none---is foolish to attack the USA.

Right on! But you left out a few. We shouldn't have had the Revolution. I like British people.
We shouldn't have had the civil war. I want a slave.
We shouldn't have gotten involved in WWII. We're called Nazis anyway today.

What if another country started a war over film credits? Would it be OK for us to intervene then?

Disagree. Our plan was to stop communism from taking over the world. There was hardly any place during that time that wasn't being threatened by the Soviets or Chinese. We didn't want to become isolated and the only democracy in the world -- which is exactly what would have happened if Russia and China had their way. Even most of Latin America (as well as Cuba) were undergoing communist revolutions.

Agree with all of this.

We should provoke them enough that they would bomb Hollywood.

Sure. It's called 20-20 hindsight. You should check out the Rant on Sunday morning if LSU loses to Miss. State.

There was no organized Communist effort. There were communists that wanted countries to be communist and aroused enough like minded people to start revolutions in countries and those revolutions were sometimes supported with Soviet arms and stuff but there was no central communist entity out to get the USA.
The "domino effect" was simply not a threat.
We sided with a corrupt virtual dictator in Saigon.
In Korea had that war simply taken it's own course the country would be one backward place like NK is today and would not be a threat to the US. The world should thank us and the UN for allowing South Korea to develop as a capitalist country but in hindsight it was not worth a drop of US blood. (Eisenhower thought so too and immediately threatened to nuke the North to end the war. A war he argued against and hated.)

Really? So, they were lying when they said they were out to get us?

Who was "they"?? A few communist individuals?
No post war Soviet leader ever wanted to "get us" to convert us to communism. They were paranoid of attack. Still are.

Australia, involved everywhere the US & UK are
France,all over Africa.
The UK in the Middle East, years longer than the US, plus Malaya,Africa, and Northern Ireland
Russians and Cubans clandestinely sent troops to proxy wars
Israel and the Arabs have been going at it since 1948

Dumb frick, no state actor is foolish enough to attack us precisely because we have proven willing and able to go to war.

We should end the War Powers Act and when we go to war it should be via an act of Congress and it should be an all out war with no nation building.
