Time to chase bushy tails! Oklahoma limit from this morning - bump for 2nd limit in OP

More or less just to whet the unsatiable appetite of my Louisiana brethren who are anxiously awaiting Squirrel Day: The Oklahoma squirrel season runs May 15th - January 31st and has a 10 squirrel limit. We had a cool snap this week and with the pecans coming in I just couldn't take it any longer! Basically no one here squirrel hunts, so even at the closest WMA to OKC, it was a pretty quick and easy limit this morning.
Having grown up stalking heavily pressured squirrels through Pomme de Terre WMA on the banks of Belson for my youth, it's almost comical how easy these squirrely are to target.
ETA: 9/15/17 - took a break from shooting parking lot geese and got another limit of bushy tails this morning:

How bad were the spiders?

I can tell you they are plenty bad in NELA right now.

I went to Pearl River WMA in MS this morning to scout around in the cool snap. Damn mosquitoes and spiders bout carried me off.

Not bad. Saw a few but not too many. And skeeters weren't terrible either. I didn't use bug spray and I only got bit a couple times.
Now the poison ivy.... good Lord. That's the most poison ivy I've ever seen. Every pecan trunk had at least one big vine and then the undergrowth was probably 40% poison ivy too. Just insane. Luckily I was able to stick to some bush hogged trails for most of it.

I'm a city boy (born and raised in BR) by da parish standards, but my daddy was born in Long Bridge and grew up in Moreauville and my uncle was born and raised in Big Bend. I spent many weekends of my youth fishing Belson and Bayou de Glaise and hunting on PdT, Muscle Lake hunting club and school board property.
I sure miss the ole AP.

If we have OB awards, TLC will win most well written posts. Always feel like I'm reading academic work compared to the rest

I have been at my property in Oklahoma for the past week or so due to my father in law in Oklahoma passing away. I limited the other day and will be frying up tree rats this weekend.
Oklahoma got more rain than normal this summer and the pecans are thick and plentiful.

A .22lr lever action will almost certainly be my next gun purchase. Probably a henry.

I was back in Oklahoma all last week (Edmond and then Lake Eufaula). Forgot the season was open there or I would have had some fun too. Didn't realize there were so many people on this board who spend time/live in Oklahoma.

Spiders and mosquitoes weren't bad on my scouting trip last weekend, but deer ticks were a different story

I own 240 acres and a house in southern Oklahoma that I spend about 5 months of the year at. I am looking forward to hitting up Lake Texoma this weekend to do some skiing and hopefully get on some nice stripers.

Very nice.

I could keep an eye on it the other 7 months out of the year... I'd be willing to do that for a fellow OB'er.

well come on back to AP. Me and 34 will have a cold beer for you.

A 10/22 should be the first gun passed down or to build a safe. But thats just my humble opinion. congrats on the tree rats!
However, a day you limit out is a very good day. How many did you pass on walking out?
