I think, other than Auburn, Saban and Co. take the LSU game more seriously than any other non-championship/non-playoff game.

Maybe that's hubris on my part, but that's how I see it.

True.... but

aTm -- Johnny Football "signature" game --- another 5 minutes of clock and it's a Bama win. aTm has not sniffed a remote shot at beating them since. Big "Mo" just got on Johnny's side for the first 3 drives and then they held on to the end.

Ole Miss - twice, granted -- but in both games Bama had more than one turnover deep in their own territory... fumbled kickoff and punts -- field flipping "game changers" --- still granted, 2 Ole Miss wins versus none for us/LSU -- I get it.

Auburn -- "kick 6" - need I say more --- that AU team was very, very lucky down the stretch that season... the kick 6 was a miracle ending.

On the contrary --- LSU has lead Al on at least 3 occasions in the 4th quarter only to lose in the end... my point ---- LSU had squared up with Bama --- just has not come away with victories... maybe Bama got a little "kick 6ish" lucky with the 90 second drive by McCarron, the fumble by LSU going in on the opening drive by our Fullback, and the recovered on-side kick only going 9.75 yards before the kicker fell on it.... each a potentially game changer

Not arguing with you... just saying had the "ball bounced" LSU's way a couple times Les Miles may have beaten Nick Saban an additional 4 times... it just didn't happen

Our offense has finally emerged from the Stone Age.

Bama should be afraid, very afraid.
