Preferably someone close enough that you were able to engage with in conversation. Doesn't have to be a celebrity per se.
First one was Cheri Pompeo. She has run somewhere over 200-300 full marathons and countless halfs, among other trail runs. She ran all these trails in Washington and wrote this book. She had just run a full marathon 2 weeks before and was on her way to run in the Rock n Roll New Orleans Marathon. She was in her mid-late 60s at the time a few years ago. And the kicker is she didn't start running races until she was close to 30 years old. Just
The second was the manager from the hip hop band 2 Live Crew. Apparently they were big in the 80s and stirred up a lot of controversy on their lyrics. The manager was wearing a t-shirt with something about guns, and kept talking back and forth with the rappers a few rows in front of us. Even gave me a signed photo and invited me to their gig... in Slidell. Yes this all took place in coach Fresh Kid Ice (left) died last year.
Lastly, and this is kind of a , I was on the back row and witnessed some guy picking up on a stewardess. He claimed he was a golfer in the PGA tour, and it appeared he knew what he was talking about... had me convinced. The attendant hung out in the back the whole time with this guy, flirting and laughing. Pretty sure they left together. I got home and looked up his name and it turned out he was a caddy for the LPGA tour.

I probably sat by the same examples you give because I have never heard of these people.

Anthony Hargrove. Super Bowl champ with the Saints. Nice guy, but should have bought two seats, or a first class ticket

A set/prop designer for major studio movies.
He'd been doing it for almost 30 years. Showed me pictures on his phone on what he was currently creating. It was some very elaborate walls/doors for one of the Harry Potter movies. Really cool peek behind the scenes. Did a lot of work on Last Airbender, too.

I sat next to an old sailor who looked and talked the part. On a cross Atlantic flight. Drank and he told me a ton of stories about being stationed around the Mediterranean. Taoromi Sicily stories in Italy and stories about Germany and drinking. He was extremely interesting and a great story teller. We Spent about $200 on the plane.

I sat next to a super fine girl once on a flight from Atlanta to New Orleans. She had something green stuck in her teeth the whole trip. She was so fine though, that I blocked it out and talked with her the whole way. We had an awesome, deep conversation.
Towards the end of the flight, thunderstorms caused massive turbulence and nausea ruined my game.

Sat next to Tommy Lasorda back in '93 in the waiting area before the flight. Talked a little baseball. That's about it. Oh yeah, he asked my brother and me to watch his briefcase while he went to the lounge. He showed back up about 15 minutes later. Said he got thirsty.

Mike Karney, former Saints fullback. It was the March after the 2006 season where he blew up the Dallas Cowboys for liike 3 touchdowns in a Monday Night game. Sat next to him on a flight from NO to Phoenix. He was cool as shite.
