Biloxi Beaches & flesh eating bacteria

Looking for a last minute weekend trip this weekend with wife and kids and was wondering what the latest on flesh eating bacteria was in Biloxi. A buddy's dad caught it last time it was a problem and it almost did him in.
Wife is skeptical about the water due to the reasons noted above.
No pics of wife available.
TIA

I haven't heard anything about it in a while. Pretty sure you'll be ok

In waveland people poop in the water.
I hope that helps.

You're not supposed to get in the water regardless of bacteria.

Agreed. Especially if y'all are all healthy and don't have any open wounds.

The bacteria is present along the entire Gulf of Mexico when water is warm enough--not just biloxi or Mississippi. With that said, there are no warnings currently down here regarding the bacteria levels. If you want to go to the beach down here, go to ship island. Nice sand and clear water.

Without a pic of wife, how can I gauge the bacteria's interest in eating her flesh?

I hear they found a couple of washed up kilos of coke in Biloxi. It may be worth the chance.

That bacteria is in any water body. The key is to not go in the water if you have an open wound. No wound, no problems.

Play in the sand, stay out of the water. Stay at a hotel with a nice pool and you're all set.

Stay at a place with a pool. Or go to Mobile.

Mississippi beach advisory
Hope this link helps you. It's the official state website on current beach advisories.

Vibrio vulnificus is ubiquitous in warm waters throughout the world. However, it typically only causes serious infections in people that are already immuno-compromised.
In order to get infected you need to ingest it or have an open wound.

The water in Biloxi is about 2 feet deep for as far out as you want to walk. Plus it's as hot as as fresh piss.
I can't believe anyone would consider getting in it.

Hell I got you fooled. I'm just a drunk redneck that keeps it real.
I guess I could be like Will Smith in Hancock. That'd be cool.

The flesh eating bacteria doesn't even want to go to Biloxi beaches. I think you'll be okay.

As long as the flesh is cellulose, it's a good way to trim a few pounds and inches. Hop in and go for it.
