Well at least 1 of those 400,000 people know how to oversaturate the colors within a night photograph to make it look nice.

It's the hometown of Farrah Fawcett and where Selena (of the 90s) was shot.
Assumed this was a decently known city.

I'm not surprised I knew was around the size of Baton Rouge maybe even bigger.

This is the proverbial "everything is bigger in Texas". It's basically the Lake Charles/Monroe equivalent in Texas, if we are saying NOLA=Houston/Dallas (not to start that weekly debate, but to assess perspective). The tallest building there is shorter than the LA state Capitol. I could find some cool pics of the lake Charles skyline online as well.

That's just how Texas is. The Valley and West Texas are a "whole 'nother country" compared to the Dallas/Houston/San Antonio triangle.
But five (now six) pages and no mention that Corpus is the home of the original Whataburger? I think it was across the street from the Del Mar College campus. They moved corporate to San Antonio a few years ago; I think Corpus people with money (and the Valley) aspire to move to San Antonio.
We had to fight the Mexicans more than once to keep the border from being the Nueces River instead of the Rio Grande, in that area.

My gf is from there and even she says it's a giant shithole. But not as big of a giant shithole as New Orleans tho.

400k you say? Bigger than NOLA. Whats the mayoral term limit? Any confederate statues? Asking for a soon to be unemployable friend.

I'm way late to this but Youngstown, OH
500,000 metro. Yet. No commercial airport because it's sandwiched between Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

No that title would go to BR. Most people outside of the gulf think it's a town of 20k people. Hell the majority of the US thinks he capital of LA is NOLA.

The only reason I know it is because we used to camp the coast and hold unofficial 4x4 races in the 4x4 only section.

Didnt realize El Paso was as big as it was.

Nobody thinks of Corpus Christi.
Posted on 8/27/17 at 8:14 am to Y.A. Tittle
According to wiki...Corpus Christi has a metro of 442,000. That makes it roughly the size of Shreveport.
It's smaller than Baton Rouge or New Orleans, but it's definitely not a "small town".
