As classes begin this week, freshmen enrollment is down 35% since the protests, according to the latest numbers the university has publicly released. Mizzou is beginning the year with the smallest incoming class since 1999. Overall enrollment is down by more than 2,000 students, to 33,200. The campus has taken seven dormitories out of service.
The plummeting support has also cost jobs. In May, Mizzou announced it would lay off as many as 100 people and eliminate 300 more positions through retirement and attrition. Last year the university reduced its library staff and cut 50 cleaning and maintenance jobs.

actions have consequences
Mizzou pays a price for appeasing the left

What did Mizzou think was going to happen? People don't want to blow thousands of dollars on school to be around that stupidity.

I think this country is starting to realize the consequences of giving in to the Lib/progressive demands.

There is a leftleaning poster on here, 5thTiger, who says the decline in enrollment is due to budget cuts and not to this.

Agree....but a lot of schools can thank us by showing them how NOT to do it. This drop is old news tho.

Budget cuts are caused by the lowered enrollments.

This cat really needs to work on his ability to determine cause and effect.

The drop is old news but the sustained drop is is new. It means people didn't forget what happened and it's still impacting enrollment.

Yeah, we knew this info awhile back. It'll be interesting to see how it effects their enrollment long term though.

They have no business being in the SEC.
Adding them was a terrible decision.
Oklahoma or Oklahoma State would have been much better programs.

I could see something like this happening at LSU with F'King at the helm.

The enrollment decline is predominantly driven by smaller HS senior graduate class sizes in the state of MO.
This significant decline was known to be coming before the stupid events happened.
