I just wish they would quit panning to guys kneeling during the national anthem. Only reason this still gets attention is because they make sure to air it. I want to watch the game not some protest.
This and the newest political platform called ESPN. I watch sports to get away from this shite. There is a reason why ESPN and NFL ratings are down so much. People don't want to see this stuff.

You don't bring political issues to a sporting event
Fans bring politics to sporting events all the time. Do you know how many campaign signs and stickers I see every Saturday near November at LSU?
quote:
The NFL DOES NOT want this in it's sport and I don't blame them
The NFL doesn't give a shite about the protest, they are more worried about triggered snowflakes like you that are going to stop watching because you can't handle a political protest that you disagree with.
quote:
If you want to express your views, go to a rally, make a sign, get on CNN or Fox News and do that. Not at a football game where people pay good money to watch entertainment, not political protesting in front of them. It's sad really.
If you let a 2 minute protest before the game kicks off ruin your enjoyment of the game itself, then you should probably rethink your priorities.

South Park actually solved this. This announcer simply says, "Please stand, sit, or kneel in respect for the national anthem".

Just like they can do what they feel so can I. I never said I'm sharing my views either. This is the views of many many many many people. I haven't once seen a political sign inside of LSU. Ever!!! Stfu you have no idea who I am punk.
I'll bet money that this doesn't end well if it keeps going or gains traction so keep on rooting it on bud. I really don't give a damn. Have at it, I'm just warning that it's a dangerous place to play politics. That's the reason you don't bring it to a place of business, people look at things differently and those people pay their bills. So they can destroy that if they like. Really doesn't bother me one bit.

Does anyone really care at this point who kneels? It's getting pretty old.
Posted on 8/22/17 at 12:35 pm to LifeTimeTiger2
Don't realty care about all these NFL protests anymore. If people would stop acknowledging it, it would go away.
It's noble for NFL players to do this but when they leave that game and go home to their multimillion mansions and cars do you think they give a damn!
Goodell is the one allowing this to go on. He disciplines players for everything else but viewership will determine whether anyone cares because Goodell is not touching this subject.

It is a shame more NFL owners don't take the stance that Jerry Jones does.

Not that anyone asked but here is my .02. I served for 12 years and can't tell you how many times I stood at attention during the national anthem. A little not so well known fact is that it is against the UCMJ for a military member to not stand for the national anthem in uniform or not. The song may or may not mean more to some people. However, if I forced my political stance on the customers at my current civilian job, I would be fired tomorrow. Also, I don't see any of these players putting their paycheck or time into their cause. They just want to kneel on National Television and let someone else fix the problem. They can kneel, I defended that freedom. But I can also decide to not watch the NFL anymore because of it.

Eric Reid is exponentially more intelligent and thoughtful and has done more good for the University than 99% of the dipshits on this site.

Yeah we should all look up to the guy that signed Greg Hardy for some moral guidance

Exactly.. It really has nothing to do with the cause. People inside of that stadium at that time didn't pay all that money and waste all their time for your cause. They don't give a damn at that particular time. That's why you bring it to another platform, where it will be listened to, where people will actually hear you.
Like I said I really don't care either way. I'm just warning that this will ruin their sport. Not everyone views this the same way. They will take offense to it on that kind of platform because they payed money to see this.

do you drag your fat arse out of your recliner every time you watch a sporting event and they play the national anthem?
Other than the Super Bowl, do they show the National Anthem on TV? I don't think they do but it's been so long since I've watched an NFL game I don't remember.

The old rule of thumb is that you don't bring politics and religion into the workplace. The fans in the parking lots and stands aren't in the workplace. The players and coaches on the field are.

They do. To the extent that they are always looking out for their financial interests. I guarantee that at least 51% of NFL "customers" are put off by this.

Really doesn't my man. I actually agree with in, except for the platform they are using. I'm a mature adult. I know what I'm saying here. You don't bring politics to a place of business, it will ruin it.
Hey I don't get a pay check from the NFL so why would I really care. I'm concerned for the NFL game. I like to watch every once in a while but if this is ok, then what's next? People don't think about those things. Plus this isn't the 60s man. This country has come a long ways. This country actively stopped slavery around the world. No one talks about that. You would get much further by acknowledging how far we've come while actively working to bring it further. This kind of stuff won't do a damn thing but hurt the NFL brand and business.

I'd suggest you do some research into Kaepernicks charities. I don't agree with his protest, but you can't knock him for not putting his money where his mouth is.

Sand in a lot of people's vaginas over the kneeling thing.
