Evolution is an undeniable fact.
You need to start a thread about abiogenesis.

Knowing the complete answer wouldn't change a damn thing to me. God, aliens, blind luck, terrible curse...
No, it wouldn't change a damn thing, but we know the answer is evolution.

Adaptation? yes!
Do I believe I came from a starfish or a monkey? Nope.

No need to further complicate the issue, Dr. Salmon.

I'm not sure anything in science is ever 'proven' but there is certainly a lot of evidence for it.
Life. Just a theory.

Water - as we know it - is H2O.
Future theory and/or advances may say otherwise.

I can't make it any more plain than: H20 is water. Or the acceleration due to earth's gravity in a vacuum at 0 atm is -9.8 m/s.
Those are facts.
"Facts" based on what? A point in time, current knowledge about laws, nature? Context?
These are observations from which we use to deduce other deductions.
THEORETICALLY (and I know I'm wasting my time because you won't get this) those "facts" might be dependent of parameters inserted into the configuration of our current virtual simulation. How do you know what observations are 100% fact?

Maybe he's thinking about multi dimensions or something.

Micro or macro evolution?
And whoever said evolution is proven:, Why are you posting on a college message board, when it is obvious you never attended?

If you want to discuss psychology and philosophy, fine. It was Nietzsche who made the claim that there are not eternal truths.
I'm discussing the ACTUAL SCIENTIFIC METHOD you retard
It's one big affirmation of the consequent - ie deductive approach to observations

Saying "nothing is fact" or "nothing is real" is a philosophical argument, not a scientific one and is based on the stance that we can never perceive reality. If that's the case, then any discussion on God or a specific scientific theory/law/fact/opinion is pointless.

At ONE TIME, the GREATEST thinkers and scientists in the world were convinced that the Sun revolved around the Earth. It was factual to them and not open to discussion. Subsequent evidence proved them one hundred percent wrong. The facts changed. They evolved. That's what we're trying to say it is tough to accept something as 100% factual,EVER.
However, your stubbornness and unwillingness to see the simple fact is starting to make your ignorance easy to accept 100%.

I do not believe in evolution. Belief belongs in the providence of faith.
I accept evolution as a reality due to the overwhelming evidence that supports the theory.

So you accept the belief that evolution is a reality. You believe something regardless.

I don't know why you think this is a light topic. It's one of the more contentious arguments out there because 99% of the people discussing it are not genuinely interested in actually discussing speciation. They use the evolution debate as a proxy argument about the existence or non-existence of God. It really is a shame because it's an interesting topic.
Evolution is real and undeniable. The DNA record and how different species are related to each other pretty much proves it. How it happens is still uncertain. Does it happen slow, or fast or both? Is it as simple as gene shift/drift and/or do viruses play a role? We're still looking for the answers but we have enough evidence to suggest it's a natural process rather than some supernatural process where God poofs new species into being from time to time to keep busy.

We aren't talking about Schrodinger's cat where the observation itself can affect the outcome. Not all science is on the quantum level. An atom with one p/n/e is hydrogen. 2 of those bonded with an atom we call oxygen is the H20 molecule. These are facts. Observed in the same way that I know I exist and you exist (although the electron is the outlier there).
Now, if you want to get into a discussion about the existence of reality and conciousness, then again, that's philosophical not physics or chemistry or biology.
