You sound really intelligent. Like for real. I mean that.

All the evidence we have available to us suggests that evolution got us here.
Not to mention you can watch speciation occur with ring species all across this planet today, which is evolution in itself.

I'll walk this out for you since you're having a difficult time with this.
Here is the logical structure of the Scientific Method:
Statement 1: IF Johnny studies for his test, he gets an A
Statement 2: Johnny got an A
Conclusion: Johnny Studied
Reality: NOT necessarily. Johnny could have just been REALLY smart, cheated, etc.
Deductive reasoning, by definition, can never be proven 100% logically true.

Do I believe that animals/humans/plants evolve to better adapt to their environments then yes
Do I believe we evolved from single cell organisms and crawled out of the oceans millions of years ago, debateable
I believe in the bible, but I do not think you can take the 6 day creation story as a literal week as some Christians profess . So a week in the biblical sense could constitute multiple millennia in the literal/scientific sense.

Evolution is a fact.
You can tell by the 2-3 down votes for all the other comments like this that we do have a few creationists in the building though
ETA: I realize it's technically the Theory of Evolution, but we also have the "Theory of Relativity" and most people agree that space-time and black holes very much exist

Are you saying it's not conclusive that water is made of the H2O molecule?
What if there is an as yet undiscovered portion in the molecule that makes it water, and without that, (or with it, makes no difference) it is something else?
Science is always EVOLVING...BRO.

You can safely DEDUCE that. That doesn't make it a 100% eternal truth.

These discussions sometimes benefit from the separation of the concepts of abiogenesis and evolution, which are two different discussions entirely, anyway. I don't know if a true scientific consensus has even been reached on abiogensis, even though the primordial ooze theory can be somewhat replicated through the generation of amino acids in a lab. Evolution at least has mountains of evidence on its side that it does occur and is occurring.
I think it's fair to say abiogenesis is something for which we have a lot of hypotheses, but nothing really concrete.

Yes.
And no, there is no god.

quote:God created everything. He basically programmed everything we know and are yet to find out. So evolution was programmed into the creation. Since he programmed it, it is automatically divine guidance.
Just to be clear, even though I'm of the Christian faith, I do believe in evolution and was an anthropology minor in college.
So...I suppose I believe in evolution with divine guidance.
What's your take on it?

That has zero to do with "there being no facts in science". I can give you a fact that we've discovered through science and that doesn't make it questionable or "maybe wrong one day" just because you learned the scientific method in 5th grade.
I can't make it any more plain than: H20 is water. Or the acceleration due to earth's gravity in a vacuum at 0 atm is -9.8 m/s.
Those are facts. Now, with anything in physics, you can change the variables or parameters to determine that things aren't so simple, but when you set those out clearly, the conclusion is often known. In other words: A fact.

Well apparently we have a bafoon running around this thread not realizing Science is based off of deductions. Which is worse. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Do I believe the biblical story of Adam and Eve.... yes.... pretty sure that answers your question.

Believe is not the right word. I understand and accept the evidence that supports the theory that we evolved by natural selection.

Anybody ever paid to have their wisdom teeth removed? You can thank evolution for that.
