If pro golfers were not paid to put a brand of clubs in their bag, what do you think they

game?
I imagine majority of them would have the Taylor Made M Drivers and fairway. Adams or Titleist Hybrid. Mizuno 900 Tour irons (see all the former Nike players gaming them.). Vokey wedges and Odessy or Scotty putters.

The top golfers game what they want. They can pick brands with whom to sign deals. They can also modify clubs at their discretion. The top clubs don't have much of a difference in terms of performance, so really it's all what fits their eye.

Like what was posted. Heads can be modified and built to spec. But also, the shaft choice is really where the player gets the desired results from the irons and woods.

Mizuno if the PGA and Web.com guys did not get paid....Mizuno irons would fill the bags.
Probably:
Driver - Taylor Made / Titleist
3 wood - all over the board - some pros still use the old TM tour eagle 3 wood
irons - Mizuno
wedges - anything forged that meets the eye test
putter - spider, cameron

Mizuno doesn't have the bank roll to fund multiple touring pros, hence why they don't have a "huge" name. Clearly they make superior irons to other brands if 5/6/7 players are gaming the irons and not being paid to do so... ie Brooks

I am surprised no one seems to think PXG might be a likely choice if endorsement money weren't a factor
I get that they are expensive for amatuers but for a pro, not so much.

I'd bet that more players would bag Wilson Staff irons if they didn't have to worry about sponsors.

Golf World did an anonymous survey with tour professionals a couple of weeks ago.
Mizuno - 36%
TaylorMade - 23%
Titleist - 21%
Callaway - 9%
Srixon - 7%
Other - 4%
