How is everyone holding up? Still had water on the street to my complex in Kingwood and some all in the parking lot. This is when I walked over the bridge. They finally opened the bridge for tracfic 4 hours later so went and assessed the area. Will strap up tomorrow and head in to help some friends get shite out. Long weekend ahead.

Go to 511la.org. if you turn on all the reports, there is a warning about a weight limit on the Pendleton bridge (hwy 6). The limit is 14' wide and 175,000 lbs. Heavy traffic has been routing to I-20.

Are the waters generally going down?

You have any idea when it will start to recede?

League City, TX to Louisiana
518 --> 146 --> 99 --> I-10 E --> 61N --> 90 W --> 96 S to Port Arthur --> 73 E/87N --> 358 N --> MLK DR --> I-10 E ??
Water on the roads in some parts but passable.
Zello dispatch said 87 was passable to I10, but I saw the NG towing an F350 out. Had to double back to MLK to make it to I10. In Lake Charles now.

My Jeep club (Seven Slot Society of SWLA) traveled to Orange to aid in some of the efforts there. We had to go I-10>HWY 108>HWY 12>HWY 87. Before we even got all the way into Orange, people were flagging us down. After working that neighborhood, the Pinehurst PD contacted us to bring them around to follow up on their priority list of victims.
Here's a link to the album if anyone wants to check it out. There may be some duplicates in there because they were all images sent to us.
An anchorwoman and cameraman from CBS asked us if they could tag along when we moved to our second spot. When we got to our rally point with the police, the news people asked which boat they could ride in. I told them "none. the spots in the boat are for victims, you can stand at the launch and do your thing." The anchorwoman was pretty upset that she had followed us over there thinking they could ride in a boat.

Brazos river is now causing serious problems in Lake Jackson. Water is rising in my street and the city issued an "immediate and mandatory evacuation" for my neighborhood.
We're not in the Brazos flood zone. There are many houses already flooded in the area that aren't in any flood zone.

google maps shows 6 hours from houston to New Orleans (going through back roads as you get to Beaumont and Port Arthur)...while Waze is 8 hours, go north out of Houston, catch I-49 where it intersects with US-84.
Is google maps out of touch with situation?
Chicken I wouldn't risk that route through Port Arthur/Beaumont. The Neches is still rising and won't crest till Saturday or Sunday. Guys I work with in Beaumont have been trapped at work since Tuesday. Some bridges are washing out in the area. Orange and areas North on the Sabine are under mandatory evacuation because the Sabine is supposed to crest tomorrow afternoon just a foot and a half below the record set last spring. It's a shite show in that entire area.

The Bitch is here in Western North Carolina now. Pretty impressive I must say.

if you are bringing supplies, they've been letting people through at I10. If you are making this trip, please fill your vehicle and make a drop.
