The NWS is just throwing more adjectives at it. Catastrophic, life-threatening flooding turned in to epic, catastrophic, life-threatening flooding.
Will be interesting to see how long the city is shut down.
Looks like Houston ISD has cancelled classes all week and I saw someone post that their relative works at Hobby and said they can't get out til likely Tuesday. I can't see how any businesses would be open tomorrow and that is if it doesn't continue as predicted through tonight.

@RosenbergPolice
The 3900 block of FM 762 (in front of 24 HR fitness) has just collapsed. There is a massive sinkhole in the roadway. AVOID THE AREA! #Harvey

The Coast Gaurd press conference that just happened was pretty amazing.
They basically said don't call for help unless your life is in immediate danger.

South Cameron was issued mandatory evacuation orders on I believe Thursday.
I'm in south LCH and we're fine for now.

We just lost power on N. Braeswood
My mom was supposed to stay at Main and S. Braeswood tonight for an appointment at MD Anderson tomorrow. I can almost certainly tell her she can't get to and stay in that area tonight, correct?

That's a good way to get people killed.

Looks like drier air is starting to work its way into the system. Still plenty of moisture streaming from the GOM, but the rotation may keep that streaming east of Houston for the time being.
