you are off of work for 2 months and you have the ability to go anywhere for free right now.
2 weeks hiking in Colorado
1 week hiking in the grand canyon
One week at the bourbon distillerys in Kentucky
4 weeks in Central and Southern Italy

Go to Breckenridge. Get away from the heat, enjoy the scenery, and hike Quandary Peak. If you don't get called in, bounce around to some of the breweries around the Boulder/Denver area and check out a show at Red Rocks. You're always a quick flight away from being back home and the vacation rentals are off season rates right now.

I could visit several places in two months.
Yellowstone, Yosemite, Badlands, Glacier, Acadia.
That's a start.

Montana/Idaho? Alaska?

Fly to Montana, rent an RV and hit up Yellowstone park, Grand Teton, Glacier National park and Jackson Hole.

I would tour our national parks. Glacier, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Sequoia, Puget Sound, etc.
