Hilton might play the whole dumb blonde slut act, but she's really not an idiot. She actually earns her money. Unlike the Kardashians.

In other words, they are not DJ AM?

Do they do a lot of mixing or are they pretty much throwing on house music then Qing it up with trendy songs from time to time?

Depends on who it is, some people like Porter Robinson will play an actual live MIDI performance that takes a lot of skill and even more pre-show planning. Artists like Steve Aoki will play tracks from intro to outro, which is usual in trance acts, but with house music is lazy and unimaginative as it cuts the amount of work put into sets. A big issue with any musician in any genre is having their time stretched, between clothing lines, endorsements, and touring, a lot of musicians in general neglect their actual craft and end up becoming irrelevant in the process of trying to become more relevant, ironically.

its amazing how much DJs get paid. Friend of mine is a manager at hakkasan in vegas, their top house DJ makes makes 250k a night

You mean Tiesto? He plays a couple of times a week, not every night. He is one of the few that can pull even remotely close to that kind of money.

We had Tiesto at an event before, he wanted 200k but settled for 180.

Yes, he makes 250k every night he plays, just like I stated...

I had no idea until I had a long delay at the Vegas airport last year and this girl sitting next to me at the bar explained it all. I was blown away! She went to U of Washington and was dropping out of school to become a bottle service girl. She said that they make $250K a year and she was doing it because she just really into that music scene. It's like the whole scene is based on Monopoly money or something. Just a completely different world.

Friends wife used to work at new york new york, she worked one night a week, cleared around 1500. All she did was bring bottles and tab, her helpers did the rest.

While I believe she is inflating the price like 95% of service industry workers, vip areas in big clubs in Vegas, NYC, Miami, and LA will cover that 250k it takes to book the dj.

It's stupid money being flung around in the vip with people trying to out ball each other

I have family that owns some condos in Vegas and have been there several times to party. Wonder how hard it would be for a male bartender with over a decade experience in Nola to break in at a place in Vegas.

You read that as he makes 250k while sitting at home not working?

I don't even understand how that's economically feasible from the club's point of view.

Charging $15 for a drink worth less than $1, well apparently that adds up.

Not that alcohol doesn't sell at these concerts, but people experiencing the show aren't blowing tons of money on drinks at the bar.

Bottle service is different.
