Your definition of 'not that bad' includes waking up at or before 4:00AM, and not getting home until around 5:00PM (if you can beat traffic)?

I did the 90+ minute commute for about 7-months and finally had to give in. I couldn't take the 12+ hour days to work 8 hours. It was taking a huge toll on me and my family.

I didn't think I'd ever live long enough to see these words together.

I wake up at 4:05 am and am home by 4:35. This is for a 9 hour day. I am also saving bookoo money on rent (moved back in with parents until I finish school). I graduate next year and will most likely be travelling for work...I didn't want to buy something before I know where I am at and the drive is temporary. I have a GF in baton rouge so I don't always have to make the drive and can escape to a safehouse if i screw up. It isn't that bad.

I love that area. Me and the wife were going to buy/build there but she had to be within 30 minutes of work for call outs. Now she doesn't take call anymore.

So you don't have a family, you don't make the commute every day, and it is not a permanent situation. But you're trying to say it "isn't that bad."

More money = more problems.

One can not buy an enjoyable life. Has to be made. Up to you on how you make it. Give me a high quality of life and pay me less any day of the week.

Your company has confidence in you . If you pass up a lot of opportunities it may come back to bite you in the tail down the road.

The only person that can decide if the move is good is yourself.

You can even make a pro and con list and see which side comes out with more positives for you.

They have a plant in Franklin. There are limited opportunities for an 80K salary in VP, it shouldn't be hard to narrow down.
