Why oh why? 2 ints don't mean shite if you don't see how they hapoened. WR dropped the pass and it lands in a defenders hands. A tipped pass? I am not making excuses. You guys just need to chill. Let's see what it looks like in 3 weeks? I mean it is what it is. Let's hope if Etling struggles that one of the backups is ready. At least now we have a Offensive coordinator that it seems has a clue and will put the best QB we have at this time in. Also a head coach that WILL let the O coordinator make that choice unlike our last one.
Ok. Forget the 2 ints

8-18 is horrific these days

But O mentioned our OL pass blocking was atrocious the whole scrimmage which will lead to making mistakes even in a scrimmage situation.

But PFF had this line ranked #1 in the nation!!?!?!?!!!!!!!1111

2 ints that we didn't even see. You are better than this pride. Let's see a couple real games first before we start bashing Etling this season. Hell we saw enough of Harris after a few REAL games and he got yanked. I will wait and see before I make that judgement.

8-18 with 2 ints is absolutely horrific. I don't care he was facing our 1s. Uf,auburn, and Bama all have similar quality defenses

That's nearly 50% which isn't horrible. He is also facing a defense that knows more of our plays, tendencies, etc, since they fight it out all day.

Furthermore, you don't know how many were dropped or any of the situations.

It's just really difficult to know what this actually entailed unless you were there.

On the planet where the defense has gone up against the offense multiple times in a controlled, situational environment against Dave Aranda and DBU.

More evidence that Brennan should start.

Etling has shown enough for us to know that he can be composed and make some plays from the pocket.
Not only that but he's fearless, does not easily get rattled, and plays tough. That is a huge known for him in the SEC, and an unknown for everyone else.

It seems as if people are conflating the quarterback with the offensive game plan. People are desperate for an exciting and unpredictable offense after frustrating years of promises and no results. However, you can have a solid but not exciting game managing type quarterback run a dynamic offense. Canada doesn't need Johnny Manziel or Russel Wilson to run his offense. He needs someone who can efficiently execute his scheme. With Canada calling the plays, Etling just needs to execute, not excel. If he can do that, I think Tiger fans may be more than happy with the result.

I really hate to disagree with a certified football genius like you. After all, I have been to your house and have seen all of your national championship rings, but.......

It was a feeaking scrimmage, Dorothy. You remember how scrimmages were when you were coaching major college football don't you? Scrimmages work on specific plays, formations, game and D&D situations. Often the same play is repeated.

Considering that you are a legend in football coaching, I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that you forgot this.

Hey people, Etling is starting, if you think these stats are bad, try putting a freshman in this complex offense, which he doesn't know, against a senior laden team, in his first game on national TV in front of a stadium 30 times bigger then Myles has ever seen.
U
The second we lost horribly you would all soon turn on coach O, saying this was the dumbest move he's ever made. Season would literally be on the line after the first game. Etling has been through the tough road games, and I saw him, he's not a bad QB. Etling is starting and LSU will be a very good team with him, get over it.

That's what most of us were hoping his progress( or lack there of )would be indicating.

We have a right believe what we believe just like you. Doesn't mean we won't hope he does well. Just stating the facts that his success has been overstated and he's been overrated. Nothing I've ever seen from him indicates good enough to lead us past the defenses that play similar to the one he's always struggled against and gets excuses for in practice.

He lights it up, I will very, very surprised and will be here to eat crow. But it has to be more than 2 games and against good defenses in meaningful games.

I'm just speculating here but what if coach O told Etling to test the DBs? Or he told him to throw jump balls in the endzone? The DBs won the match up? Maybe he wanted to see how they both stacked up? I mean no one really knows the situations. I know this though there wasn't (1) game last year where I saw Etling throw 2 INTs, NOT ONE!

Just Stop because y'all really sound ignorant.

This is all just as likely as Brennen looking better than Etling. Lol

Brennan appears to becoming comfortable but his stats are nothing crazy. I sense a good amount of competition between these two, especially since Brennan took some snaps with the 1s.

WTF. How the heck do you know what he looks like? There is nothing but speculation about everything that's happening at camp and that's good. We need to let the coaches coach and keep the media and US away from the team..They are implementing a new system and are only 70% there according to the coaches. Mistakes are going to happen like miscommunication, route running errors, etc.

Let it go because as of now, we have a starting QB and who knows who is really number 2 behind him and how much of a gap that really is. McMillian may have a light come on and blaze past both who the hell knows.

Etling played well yesterday. Took all except two reps with the ones. Oline struggled. 1 D was stingy. You could throw on the second Defense at will.

That was literally 7 days ago. Apparently the dropped TD pass was a 60 yarder which would have been 6/11 for 146 and 3 TDs with no INTs.

Lets not get too carried away with scrimmage stats.

In fact there, were a few drops yesterday. Brennan had 2 or 3 quick completions in the hurry part of the scrimmage with about 2 minutes left. Before that, there was very little by way of completions, except the 60 yarder vs 2 defense (3 team secondary).
