If it was up to the Rant all star coaching staff. LSU would start a new person at a different spot every game and never win again

You can stick your head in the sand if you want, but 8/18 and 2 ints blows man. Even for practice

No, Coach O said that Brennan took snaps with the starters. Wish y'all would stop saying that.

"a couple"

He didn't say Brennan was with the ones for the majority of the time.

Geez people. He threw 5 INTs the entire season last year when he was hurt. He had a 2/1 TD/INT ratio.

Relax.

Exactly. People excuse bad QB play, because it's against our elite defensive talent. Like we don't play multiple very good defenses every season.

And what would everyone say if Etling lit up the defense? Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Why oh why? 2 ints don't mean shite if you don't see how they hapoened. WR dropped the pass and it lands in a defenders hands. A tipped pass? I am not making excuses. You guys just need to chill. Let's see what it looks like in 3 weeks? I mean it is what it is. Let's hope if Etling struggles that one of the backups is ready. At least now we have a Offensive coordinator that it seems has a clue and will put the best QB we have at this time in. Also a head coach that WILL let the O coordinator make that choice unlike our last one.

Curious as to how those 2 INTs happened

One was a deep post to Chark where Jackson climbed the ladder and made a hell of a play on the ball, otherwise it was TD. Other was on an out route to Gage, Delpit sniffed it out, stepped in, and took it to the house.

Our secondary is LEGIT incase a few of y'all forgot....

Well right after I post your explain how the ints happened.

Based on your description we all know Etling struggles on the deep passes his passes do hang up alot. The other one it just seems like Delpit is the real deal. If Etling struggles next man up and I hope Brennan is the man then and we have our Qb for the next 3 years.

Throws in a 2 minute drill should be to short, quick routes to get out of bounds easily.

1 for 3 in two minute drill is a win. I don't know what you guys want to hear. Les had his QBs playing arena league in practice and putting up 300 yards, and it never translated to the field. These scrimmages by all accounts are to address weaknesses and get better or at the very least identify them. People freaking out about scripted practice stats are just looking for something to freak out about.

For reference, Etling threw the 3rd fewest INTs in the SEC last season with the 2 ahead of him being part time starters. He had the fewest of anyone throwing over 2000 yards. He didn't have a lot of TDs either, but was 5th in the SEC in TD/INT ratio.

Orgeron should flip the script and let the #1 O go against the #2 D the rest of the way and vice versa.
Why? To pad the stats for no real purpose? Iron sharpens iron.

We are fcked if O sticks with DE only because he's a senior

Etling has shown enough for us to know that he can be composed and make some plays from the pocket.

You guys who think that Brennan is even capable of competing already are being unreasonable. Orgeron said just last week that Brennan isn't getting many reps with the ones because he's still trying to learn the basics of the offense. He pointed out that it's not time yet.

It's almost impossible for freshman to be able to outperform a player the level of Etling at this stage. The success that Brennan is having is almost assuredly a scripted number of select plays with the intent of developing him and moving his down the learning curve. That's a whole lot different than being ready to be the starter.

Unless Brennan is a 1 in a decade player, Etling should be the starter for game 1.

I assume the coaches want to win. We can armchair coach all we want but we don't have to worry about losing our job. It just seems like if anyone gets it, its coach O. He made it a priority to keep Aranda and went out and found a good O coordinator and the Key thing is he said he would let them Coach their sides of the ball. Let's just hope it all works out.
