Batting .462 with an obp of .627 during the streak. The numbers this guy continues to produce is crazy.

Carlos Gomez's OBP is .342 when he has a 0-0 count.

Like I've said many times, the guy just toys with opposing pitchers.

Very simply the best pure hitter in baseball right now IMHO.

Yes there are players like Trout that bring a more complete game to the table but as far as pure value in the batting box give me Votto over everybody.

What does "pure hitter" even mean?

Votto does not give you more value at the plate than Trout.

He's gonna win MVP on a 65-70 win team

Fun fact about hit streak is that he's reached base safely at least twice in all 17 games. That's absurd.

Not contact, not power.

I would also add in to that definition, a hitter that understands his goal as a hitter, is to not make, or contribute to an out.

You can't have a top 5 season all time and miss 45 games. The actual top five seasons are too damn good. Per game, you can, but you are just being dumb if you think he will produce a top five season ever.

Yeah, as much as I love Votto, and I have no qualms saying he should be a first ballot HOFer, Trout is having video game season. 1.167 OPS thus far, and his advanced stats are even more insane.

Trout is no doubt has more value at the plate than Votto, who is an all-time great hitter himself. Here are some stats from baseball reference over the last 3 seasons. Not that it's not already obvious, but Trout is ridiculous this year. Can probably give Votto a slight edge for average and getting on base.

First of all, your ranking system is dumb. Your giving points for categories by rank is silly. Doesn't factor in PA, and adds points from an ordinal ranking system.

Trout is having a bananas season but he also will play in 2/3 of it, so his rate stats while awesome, can't be compared to someone playing a whole season.

Since 2012, Trout's breakouts season.

wOBA:
Trout .418
Votto .415

That tells you all you need to know. They have both been damn good and one isn't heads and shoulders above the other. This also includes Votto's 2014 season that was shortened and he played with a bum knee.
