Shouldn't journalists refrain from Twitter?

It seems absurd that they are so blatantly blurring the lines between objectiveness and bias from their "real jobs" and what they write and re-tweet on Twitter.
I went my whole life without knowing that Tom Brokaw was a liberal. You can't go 5 minutes without seeing a national political reporter (not opinion) like Maggie Haberman or Glenn Thrush or Cuck Todd bashing this administration on Twitter.
I took a couple of journalism classes in college and I definitely remember hearing about the importance of unbiased writing.
Is this all out of the window? Is there any concern about Twitter decimating the line between professional, unbiased reporting and blatant partisan hackery?
I feel like news organizations should ban their employees from voicing political opinions of any sort on Twitter.

You really can't see both sides can you? Like I thought you were being willfully ignorant but you truly honestly can't see that both sides do this? I get it now.

In no way would I say journalists should refrain from twitter but I think it might behoove them to have 2 twitter accounts. One that they use to strictly report what they know, are being told, or that they are finding during their own investigations.
Journalists are still people who have a right to have their own thoughts and opinions. I think they should have a 2nd twitter account where they stick strictly to their opinions, musings and communicating with their friends/family.

Nothing particularly wrong with Twitter. It's just another medium.
But they should just use to get their stories out, and maybe make clarifications.
Pushing a political agenda, regardless of medium, is the problem.

Not only that, but many of these reporters make such unprofessional tweets... using profanity, calling names, and acting like angsty teenagers.
Why doesn't their employer tell them to stop being so unprofessional on their twitter account that represents their company?

We could probably ask Jeffrey Lord, since he was just shitcanned from CNN for saying "Seig Heil" on twitter
