How do you manage grades when kid plays for 3 teams?

So, after 2 years of pee-wee ball and 2 years of JR High ball my kid is finally entering HS.
Coaches told him today he is starting for Freshman team, starting for JV team, and dressing out as 2nd team for Varsity.
3 games a week. *sigh*... my immediate thought is how does a kid handle this load and academics?
I know I'm not the only one in this boat. Any advice on how you guys have handled your kid pulling "extra duty" and keeping grades up?

He's definitely gonna play college ball, as long as he doesn't blow out his knee...

So your kid is gonna play in 2 games, possibly 3 per week? I know this was supposed to be a subtle brag thread, buuuut turns out, it's just a "you're an idiot parent" thread

How much homework factors into his grades? You can pass HS with Cs by doing just about absolutely nothing.

I think this is a not so subtle brag. Glad Michael Sam paved the way, baw.

I'm still trying to figure out how to juggle life with three fantasy football teams.

For your son's sake, I hope he's the kicker. Otherwise I can't think of a reason to play two, possibly three consecutive nights of football.

You do know you control whether he plays or not right?

Homework before the games and homework after the games.
I don't see what the problem is.

Your kid is gonna throw that football over the mountains.

If he's entering HS he probably needs to prioritize grades over sports unless he's good enough to get a free ride to college

Who cares about homework when he can fingerblast the co-captain of the cheerleading squad?

as far as I am concerned, managing grades is a given...the only question is how much ball he can play...

Let the kid figure it out.

Send him to Bama. Saban doesn't care about grades.

He gets a shot to keep his grades up. If he doesn't he's off the team.
Seems pretty easy.

CTE is going to mess his brain up anyway. Learning seems like a waste of time.

What options do you think you have? Either do the schoolwork when he can or don't.
Common sense would tell you to do homework when not busy with sports. Eat and bathe before bed.
Repeat.
