Question about Avatar

Signed up for Avatar and am going to start going by it when I finish RFL soon. My question is I put it at as low carb as possible, but it still has me at 72g/day. I have been away from carbs for about 6 months now and have eaten that many probably only a handful of times. If I remember correctly can't I sub fats for carbs? So increase fat by 10-20g and decrease the carbs by that amount?

As in you're following full blown keto?

That's pretty low carb even for someone cutting.

If you want to, fat is 9 cal/g and carbs are 4 cal/g so you would have to drop literally all of your carbs just to get 8 more grams of fat assuming you keep your overall intake the same.

No I don't try to do keto. Just don't eat any processed carbs for the most part. Only from veggies and such.

Fruits and Veggies are still carb sources, I would stick to 50-75g of carbs and know that fiber helps drop that "net carb" total.
I'm saying to keep it at that number because unless you cook everything everyday it's impossible to go "no carb" everyday.

Avatar was designed for flexible dieting, iifym style.. so it doesn't really have built-in macros for keto. But yes you could drop your carbs to keto level by adding in more fats every week on your own.

Just keep it as it says and use fruits, veggies and sweet potatoes to bring you to your total if you aren't going to go full Keto.
You don't have to go low carb to loose weight. In fact there is only a small benifits thermogenesis wise of doing so. Very small. Now I 100% support your decision to remove processed carbs for health reasons. Just realize it doesn't make you loose weight any faster(well slightly but not enough to worry about).

I'll just add the carbs back in by introducing fruit and vegetables with more carbs. Are peas and beans something you eat? Like Lima beans and such?

I put no salt garbanzo beans in my salad

beans are fine so long as you don't do something in a sauce. Like organic black beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, navy beans, green beans, peas along with sweet potatoes on top of the fruit and green veggies.

I signed up for this to double check it against my numbers during my bulk that I will be starting in about a week. I have had a habit in the past of doing a bulk and not continuing to adjust up so I am hoping with this constantly monitoring and adjusting it will help me through that. My question is that when I input my foods I seem to be hitting my macros before I actually hit my calories. Should I just fill in protein or carbs until I hit my calories or leave myself short on my cals?

Unless I'm way off base, I didn't think you could hit all of your macros and be under calories? The sum of the calories from carbs, fats, protein should be your calorie goal.

If you're bulking don't leave yourself short on calories.
Double check everything you input for a day, if you're macros and calories are way off there may be an error in one of the foods.
4 calories for every gram of protein and carbs
9 calories for every gram of fat
Multiply every macro you have by these and if you're at least within 5% of your total calories you're good.
Don't forget to also check if it is counting carbs as only net carbs.

Damn. At first glance, I thought this thread was going to be about Anavar.

Yea I know it should add up. For some reason myfitnesspal isn't though. It wasnt way off. Think it was around 5%. I just filled in with carbs and proteins. Thanks for the help

Entries in MFP are notoriously off on calories. Companies round up, round down, or entries can just be flat out wrong. Just worry about your macros.. calories fall in line.

so you wouldn't add the extra protein or carbs to fill up the cals Hulkk?
