Makes a huge difference when you have a qb who's not only experienced but smart and very hard wkin. We're fortunate to have a guy like etling during an OC transition. I'm confident he will play much better than ppl expect.

Anyone who was questioning who the starter will be is either an idiot from Zachary or clearly delusional in general. We have some freshman talent coming in but they aren't starting over a senior.
I Don't think any zachary folk have questioned it, just the media and few others. Anyway, this is an etling post.

Etling is 100% the starter. And McMilan is his backup. If y'all haven't figured that out by now, then wow.

Well no s... I hope he has a good year! All SEC?....Keep your money in your pocket on that one.

Canada's system really is perfect for DE. Just be smart, make good reads and accurate throws inside 12-15 yds, and know when to hit your checkdowns.
None of those things have really been big problems of his.
That said, the fact that he's got a bit more zip on his passes is a big deal. It was likely a result of his back injury, but his balls floated a bit.
Love what I'm hearing.

Dude looks like a sec QB now. Last year he looked frail.. I hope he practiced his slide though. There were times last year he scared me. If its third down and he is at the line I hope he takes the hit but if he already passed line lay down baw
IDK, he took a lot of really big shots early in the season. He earned a lot of respect from his team mates for his toughness. I agree in the Bama game he looked skiddish. If the back is healed he should be significantly better and be able to work well in Canada's offense.
Canada rolls his QB a lot which requires the QB to make more cross body throws and throws on the move. That puts more torque on your core and especially low back. Etling is mobile and if the back is good, he should do well.

New coach, same sad song of the LSU HC pumping up an average at best QB during the offseason.

I understand the skepticism. We got programmed to doubt, or completely dismiss, any positive QB propaganda under the Miles regime.
I'm going to choose to be cautiously optimistic. I know most of us want to see Danny actually succeed and be good. All he has to do is be good, and consistent, not phenomenal. We know from watching his play last year, that he has the tools to be exactly what LSU needs. After watching him give his all last year, getting the shite knocked out of him, sometimes getting up bloody and looking out his ear hole, yet still bouncing right back... I can't help but cheer and hope for him.

The coaches have pretty much said that Lowell has no chance to play this year. He's hardly played any football in two years because of injuries and their words were "he needs time to get his legs back."

Another season and the same lazy, flippant comments from the fan base.

Big shocker that the 5th year senior is expected to start over the true freshman.
Did anyone really think there was a 1% chance anyone but Etling was starting the first game?
