I certainly don't disagree with this. Word has been that etling has shown increased velocity on his throws, and feels better than he has in almost a year. I've posted this before, there is no QB battle. It's the sexy thing to write about, but CEO has masterfully orchestrated this non story. As Marcus Spears said today on ESPNU, ALL of these Coaches know who their QB is. I'll take that a step forward, the depth chart is set from A-Z (well in advance of any practice).

Reporters will write adnaseum about words like "competition" and "battle", relying on their 15 minutes minute view of practice, but ignore quotes like this:

March 2, 2017 (BEFORE SPRING PRACTICE)

"Danny’s the leader clearly right now and will probably end up being the leader,” Orgeron said.“

LINK /

July 26, 2017 (BEFORE FALL CAMP)

Danny’s the leader clearly right now and will probably end up being the leader,” Orgeron said. “

2017 CFB is almost under way. We have our QB. He has a chip on his shoulder, has the respect of teammates and the staff. God willing, he will claim the respect of the fan base, the haters, and the doubters. #GEAUXTIGERS

He said today at the Rotary meeting he'll be the starter.

It's his to lose and Myles will be ready to come in with the quickness.

If you go back and look at some of his better moments/games Etling really isn't a bad QB. He has good not great velocity, but better than Canada's last QB. He moves very well in the pocket which I think is key to a great QB and he has decent mobility. If he can be more consistent (which I think was due to his injury) then he will be a top 5 QB in the SEC IMO.

This is what we've all been clamoring for, a good not necessarily great QB. He's smart, crafty, tough, and can be slippery. With the offense being at a faster pace meaning that it's setup to get people in open spaces quickly, our OL should perform better. They won't have to hold for so long on every play. The scheme should also slow the opposing defense down just enough to allow them to take advantage.

The scheme itself should help build cohesiveness within the offense, build confidence which helps create better coordination throughout. This thing can really get going in the right direction and if it does it will be hard to stop.

We can just run different personnel in and out keeping everyone happy creating a positive atmosphere amongst the players. This can make an offense go so they play at a really high level. We'll see what happens but I think Etling is the clear leader, perfect QB to get this offense going. GT

Big shocker that the 5th year senior is expected to start over the true freshman.

Dude looks like a sec QB now. Last year he looked frail.. I hope he practiced his slide though. There were times last year he scared me. If its third down and he is at the line I hope he takes the hit but if he already passed line lay down baw.

As long as he hooks us up and escorts to a win over Ole Piss, I'll be happy.

Anyone who was questioning who the starter will be is either an idiot from Zachary or clearly delusional in general. We have some freshman talent coming in but they aren't starting over a senior.
