Dude this is bullshite. Being in the military is a paid position with actual work requirements. This isn't a fricking soup kitchen for homeless people. Military members aren't "serving" like that. It's a job. Nobody has a "right" to a fricking government paycheck or benefits funded by theft of the taxpayers.

Get a grip man.

Id love for them to implement measures to reduce waste.

But seeing as how neither side has been able to accomplish this to any degree... its kind of a pointless whatif.

Not a right. That's what liberals need to get through their heads. Wanting to do something or have something does not create a right to it.

Also...you bashed the military in this thread as a violent workplace...why would you want to expose transgender to such a violent life. You must be one of those sadistic trannies.

What percentage of the military is transgender?

Estimates are upwards of 7,000 members of our armed forces are transgender according to the Military Times. Not a huge percentage, but what's going to happen to those 7,000 people?

Minuscule HC costs?

Would you choose to hire an employee who will cost an average of $100K for full transition? This is the cost from start to finish including psychological evaluations, various other assessments, hormones and finally surgery.

This employee would also miss a lot of work during this process so you will lose because of absenteeism and training, etc.

Finally common sense prevails... we can still be compassionate americans, but, we still need to think and exercise basic common sense. John wayne would never have saved our democracy if he were fighting the japanese or germans in high heels...i wonder though, in the movie the longest day,, if he really broke his leg while parachuting in stilettos????

People are "melting" because Trump said he wouldn't roll back any of Obama's LGBT resolutions. As far as I know, this would be two.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but he is going back on his word.

Yes, miniscule.

I might if my budget were $700B. To make this an issue of costs is simply absurd. This might not crack the top 1000 line items we should be agitated about re the military and costs.

Trump says he will not touch LGBT

Yes, I realize that there is "clarification" embedded in the article. But that type of clarification and backtracking is common place now.

Like I said, I don't give a frick, but IMO he's needlessly going after things that shouldn't be political issues.

It isn't the cost but the fact that most sane people do not want their tax dollars going towards chopping off a penis or whatever happens

Nothing mentioned in that article contradicts Trump's action today. No one has a right to engage in military service, and he's still "protecting the community from violence and oppression."

Try again.

That's the title of the article, but that's not contained in any of the actual quoted statements.

Honestly, I don't care enough to worry about the semantics either way. I think this is the correct decision with regard to the military.

I guess, you don't? Or you're just hung up on the semantics?

I guess I kind of am hung up on "semantics". Did the military make the decision and he's just going along with it? I really don't know.

Most of the transgenders in the military aren't lacy effeminate men, they are butch tough women who act and dress like men. I grew up with a butch chick who joined the marines. Tough as old leather. We want these kinds of women in the military.

How are they identified as "transgendered"?
